Bay’s Milo Hignett voted SBLive’s Ohio High School Athlete of the Week
Congratulations to Bay’s Milo Hignett on being voted SBLive’s Ohio High School Athlete of the Week for September 18-24!
Hignett had four assists to take down Orange 6-1 on Saturday, September 24.
Hignett received 50.12% of the vote, beating out Dublin Jerome’s Mark Tzagournis, who finished second with 24.72%. Weston Strader of Firelands finished third.

Emma Beretich, Pickerington Central volleyball
The West Virginia commit had 10 kills, two blocks and three digs in a 3-0 win over Reynoldsburg. Through seven matches this year, the standout has had 68 kills and nine aces.
Marcel Boyce Jr., Akron Buchtel football
The wide receiver erupted for 137 yards and three touchdowns on seven receptions. Buchtel defeated Ellet 22-6.
Harrison Brewster, Olentangy Berlin football
The sophomore quarterback rushed for 142 yards and two touchdowns on 13 attempts. Olentangy Berlin blanked Olentangy 38-0 to improve to 4-2 on the season.
Will Butler, Uniontown Lake football
Scored three touchdowns in the second, third and fourth quarters to lead Uniontown Lake to a 21-7road win over Massillon Jackson.
Djibril Dembele, Walnut Hills cross country
Ran a 17:43.5 winning the boys open junior and senior race to lead his team to a title at the Fairmont Firebird Invitational.
Sam DeTillio, Avon football
The senior quarterback threw for 321 yards and four touchdowns on 12-of-16 passing in first half action. Avon dominated in a 63-7 win over North Ridgeville.
Luke Dunn, Archbishop Moeller football
Right off the jump, the junior quarterback led an 80-yard play that was followed by a 25-yard touchdown pass right off the jump to spark the offense. Dunn finished 13-of-19 for 212 yards as Moeller routed La Salle 47-14.
Chris Edmonds, Toledo Central Catholic
Led the offense with 116 yards and four scores on 19 rushes. TCC defeated Lima Senior 56-0 to improve to 5-1 on the season.
Levi Ellis, Elyria Catholic football
Amassed 4,000 career rushing yards as Elyria Catholic beat Fairview 42-7.
Eugene Gibbons, St. Ignatius football
Had a total of five sacks, recording a program record for most sacks in a single game, as St. Ignatius bounced back with a 21-14 win over River Rouge (Michigan).
Rilynn Jones, Allen East soccer
Scored three goals and had one assist in a 4-1 victory over Coldwater.
Mikey Maloney, Riverside football
The junior quarterback threw for 236 yards and three touchdowns and ran for one on his own under the Friday night lights. Riverside routed Mayfieldv 58-14 to improve to 5-1 on the season.
Christian Manville, New Albany football
The senior running back rushed for 237 yards and three touchdowns on 28 carries to lead the Eagles to a 45-21 victory over Grove City.
Lamar Sperling, Archbishop Hoban football
Led the Knights' offense rushing for 158 yards and four touchdowns on 27 carries. Archbishop Hoban beat rival Walsh Jesuit 32-20 to remain undefeated on the season.
Weston Strader, Firelands football
Put together a dominant performance rushing for 408 yards and six touchdowns as Firelands won a close game to Keystone 46-42.
Mark Tzagournis, Dublin Jerome football
Scored the game-winning touchdown on a 68-yard reception to lift Dublin Jerome over Thomas Worthington 24-21.
Qiersten Williams, Winton Woods football
The junior linebacker piled up 16 tackles, four tackles for loss and caught an interception to lead the reigning Div. II state champs to a 62-31 win over Anderson.
Tremell Wright, Xenia football
With just under a minute left, Wright scored the go-ahead goal on a 10-yard catch to lead Xenia to a 27-22 win over Tippecanoe.
