We’ve picked out 10 freshmen quarterbacks in North Carolina that have stood out this season.

We are at the conclusion of the 2023 high school football regular season here in North Carolina and there’s no shortage of underclassmen performing at a high level heading into the postseason.

It’s no surprise that freshmen are showing out in Tar Heel State as that’s been the case in the past many times over. This list of underclassmen features some of the top freshmen signal callers we’ve seen or have been on the rise in North Carolina. Take a look at our list and vote for who you feel has been the top performing freshmen high school quarterbacks in North Carolina.

Here are the nominations:

Caden Ingle, Erwin: Though Ingle has thrown 11 interceptions on the season, the freshman leads everyone in yardage. Ingle has thrown for 1,244 yards through the air and nine touchdowns. 

JaRon Ward, Hendersonville: Ward has been solid this fall for the Bearcats as the quarterback has completed 78-of-136 passes for 1,139 yards and 13 touchdowns to just four interceptions, 

Mason Holtzclaw, Christ School: The Greenies' signal caller has had a nice season so far as Holtzclaw has completed 92-of-197 passes for 1,218 yards and 10 touchdowns. 

Tyson Broadway, Southern Durham: Probably the most efficient quarterback on this list has been Broadway. The freshman quarterback has completed 64-of-83 (77 percent) for 1,216 yards, 11 touchdowns to a mere one interception. 

Christian Ormandy, Garner: Ormandy has seen plenty of snaps under center for Garner as the quarterback has completed 87-of-148 passes for 875 yards and six touchdowns. 

Rmaunni Watson, West Mecklenburg: The freshman signal caller has thrown for a lot of yards so far, with 680 yards on 46-of-105 passing. Watson has tossed five touchdowns through eight games. 

Ramir Watson, Rocky River: Another Watson on this list, but this one plays for the Ravens of Rocky River. The Ravens' quarterback has completed 53-of-128 passes for 820 yards and eight touchdowns. 

Samuel Finch, Beddingfield: Finch has put up some solid numbers so far for the Bruins. The Beddingfield passer has completed 42-of-67 passes for 711 yards and eight touchdowns. 

Troy Logan, Charlotte Latin: The Hawks' quarterback has seen a lot of action in his freshman campaign as Logan has completed 84-of-163 passes for 822 yards and six touchdowns. 

Elan Lipford, West Caldwell: Lipford, who also plays free safety on defense, has been a pleasant surprise this fall. The Warriors' quarterback has thrown for 817 yards and five touchdowns.
