HERE ARE THIS WEEK’S NORTH CAROLINA ATHLETE OF THE WEEK NOMINEES

Caman Chaplin, West Forsyth football: Chaplin makes this list for the second straight week after rushing for 365 yards and five touchdowns and 84 receiving yards and a score in a 50-42 win against Davie County.

Gabe Bolivar, Pine Lake Prep football: Bolivar had 37 carries for 416 yards and six touchdowns in a 60-44 win over Carver.

Jonathan Paylor, Cummings football: Paylor, a N.C. State commit, tallied 282 all-purpose yards and five touchdowns in a 48-29 win over Northwood.

Johnathan Montague, Clayton football: Montague had 124 rushing yards and four touchdowns and completed 11 of 12 passes for 188 yards and a score in a 44-0 win over Corinth Holders.

Ben Mauney, Burns football: Mauney had 330 passing yards and four touchdowns and ran for 49 yards and two scores in a 56-42 win over East Gaston.

Christian Rutledge, South View football: Rutledge set a new school record with 306 rushing yards and scored three touchdowns in a 62-14 win over Gray's Creek.

Kinnady Boothe, East Forsyth volleyball: Boothe finished the regular season with 384 kills, fourth-best in the state, and recorded 68 kills in three matches last week.

Shalyn Bell, North Stanly volleyball: Bell recorded 35 kills in two wins last week against Albermarle and Anson County and leads the state with 401 heading into the postseason.
