There are three weeks left in the regular season and conference races are heating up as teams jockey for conference championships and playoff seedings.
1. Providence Day (7-0)
Previous: 1. Last week: defeated Charlotte Country Day 49-13
The Chargers keep on rolling but face a Charlotte Christian team Friday night that beat them last year during the regular season. As the offense continues to thrive, the Chargers' defense is also proving to be stout, allowing just 23 points in the last two games.

2. Grimsley (7-0)
Previous: 2. Last week: defeated Ragsdale 56-6
The Whirlies continue to roll through Metro 4-A Conference play and have allowed just 20 points in their four league wins. That doesn't bode well for Southwest Guilford this week.

3. Butler (7-1)
Previous: 3. Last week: defeated Rocky River 55-0
Make it seven straight wins for the Bulldogs after last week's shutout of Rocky River. In Butler's four conference wins, it has surrendered just six points.

4. Weddington (6-1)
Previous: 4. Last week: defeated Porter Ridge 36-12
Quarterback Tyler Budge had more than 200 yards of total offense last week in the win against Porter Ridge in the Southern Carolina 4A conference opener. Unbeaten Sun Valley is on deck for the Warriors this week.

5. Crest (8-0)
Previous: 5. Last week: defeated Forestview 42-7 Oct. 12, defeated North Gaston 36-0
Not much is slowing down the Chargers' offense behind quarterback Ny'Tavious Huskey, which has now scored 409 points in their eight wins.

6. Rolesville (6-1)
Previous: 6. Last week: defeated Millbrook 53-30
Make it five straight wins for the Rams, who continue to get strong contributions from quarterback Braden Atkinson, running back Devon Thomas and receiver Jaedon Alford.

7. Dudley (7-0)
Previous: 7. Last week: defeated Northeast Guilford 48-0
Rinse and repeat for the Panthers. Their explosive offense has scored 395 points in their seven wins. The defense has allowed just 41 points with two shutouts. No team has scored more than 14 points.

8. Cleveland (7-0)
Previous: 8. Last week: defeated Willow Spring 52-7
Last week's win was the first time in the last five games that an opponent has scored any points against the Rams.

Previous: 10. Last week: defeated Red Springs 56-15
Three more touchdowns last week for Josiah McLaurin, who now has 21 total on the season (14 rush, seven receiving).

The Bears have an open week and have all but sewn up the Northwest 1-A Conference championship, but they have their eyes on a bigger prize--repeating at 1-A state champions.

11. Seventy-First (7-0)
Previous: 12. Last week: defeated Jack Britt 37-0
The Falcons keep sailing along after recording their second shutout win of the season last week. They have allowed just 28 points in their four conference wins and 48 during the season.

12. Salisbury (8-0)
Previous: 13. Last week: defeated East Davidson 57-6
In their four conference wins, the Hornets have allowed 18 points. The offense is averaging more than 49 points per game this season and a little more than 41 in conference games.

13. Hough (6-1)
Previous: 14. Last week: defeated West Charlotte 23-7
The Huskies haven't allowed more than 17 points during their six-game winning streak.

Previous: 15. Last week: defeated Stuart Cramer 51-3
Curtis Simpson, who has committed to UNC, has 11 sacks this season. Running back Robert Kendrick is averaging 92 rushing yards per game and has scored 10 touchdowns.

15. West Charlotte (6-1)
Previous: 9. Last week: lost to Hough 23-7
The Lions are coming off their first loss of the season in which they scored their fewest points in seven games.

16. Tarboro (7-0)
Previous: 18. Last week: defeated Martin County 49-6
The Vikings' three-pronged rushing attack has combined to score 32 touchdowns in their seven wins, with Kamerin McDowell Moore (14 rushing touchdowns) and Mason Satterfield (12 rushing touchdowns) leading the charge.

17. Davie County (5-2)
Previous: 15. Last week: lost to Mount Tabor 35-34
The War Eagles are coming off their first Central Piedmont 4-A loss and face another tough opponent in West Forsyth this week. Davie, West Forsyth and East Forsyth are all tied atop the league standings at 3-1.

18. East Forsyth (6-1)
Previous: 17. Last week: defeated Parkland 62-7
The Eagles are in familiar territory at the top of the Central Piedmont 4-A standings after upsets last week to Davie County and West Forsyth. Robbie Whitney has posted 10 sacks for the revamped Eagles defense.

19. Pinecrest (7-0)
Previous: 19. Last week: defeated Lee County 23-13
Zymire Spencer is averaging 120.4 rushing yards per game and has scored 15 touchdowns.

Running back Isaiah Lackey had more than 160 yards of total offense and two touchdowns in last week's win.

The Mooresville defense has allowed just 82 points this season after posting shutout wins in each of its last two games.

The Pioneers jumped to a big lead last week and held off Alexander Central to remain unbeaten. Maddox Greene threw for three touchdows and ran for another in the win.

The Rams are getting healthy again right in time for the postseason. Watch out, 2-A classification.
