Here are the candidates for SBLive’s North Carolina High School Football Coach of the Week for Sept. 8-9 as nominated SBLive’s staff. Read through the nominees and cast your vote. You may vote as many times as you like. Voting will conclude on Saturday, September 23 at 11:59 p.m. and the winner will be announced in our next poll.

HERE ARE THIS WEEK’S NORTH CAROLINA FOOTBALL COACH OF THE WEEK NOMINEES

Terrance Saxby, New Bern: Saxby, in his first season with the Bears, has the reigning 4-A state champs off to a 5-0 start following their 15-14 win over Havelock.  New Bern has won 20 straight games dating back to the 2022 season.

Steven Davis, Dudley: Not only does Davis still have the Panthers unbeaten this season following a 63-6 win against High Point Central in the conference opener, he was also inducted in the the school's Hall of Fame at halftime during the game.

Sherman Holt, Swain County: Holt, who is in his second season with the Maroon Devils, has the team off to a 4-0 start after going 5-7 in 2022.

Craig Underwood, Hoggard: The Vikings improved to 3-1 with an impressive 52-0 shutout win over previously undefeated North Brunswick on Sept. 15.

Duran McLaurin, Seventy-First: The Falcons are off to a 4-0 start after beating previously undefeated South View 47-14.

Battle Holley, East Duplin: The reigning 2-A state champions are off to a 5-0 start and won their 19th straight game on Sept. 15, beating James Kenan 28-7.

Clayton Trivett, Salisbury: The Hornets have started the season 5-0 following their 12-0 shutout win over Thomasville. The defense has allowed just 19 points this season.

Kevin Wallace, West Forsyth: Wallace, in his first season with the Titans, improved to 3-1 after opening Central Piedmont 4-A Conference play with a 40-14 win against Mount Tabor, the No. 15 team in last week's Power 25 Poll.
