Here are the candidates for SBLive’s Central North Carolina Offensive Football Player of the Week for Sept. 8-9 as nominated by fans, readers and SBLive’s staff. Read through the nominees and cast your vote in our poll. You may vote as often as you like. Congratulations to last week's winner, Davie County quarterback Ty Miller. Miller received 42,607 votes, nearly 56 percent of all votes cast. Tanner DeLattre of South Davidson was the runner-up.

HERE ARE THIS WEEK'S NOMINEES

Ray Jay Walters, Northwest Cabarrus: Walters ran for 112 yards and two touchdowns on 11 carries in a 48-0 win against Mount Pleasant.

Tyrek Samuel, Eastern Alamance: Samuel finished with 168 rushing yards and two touchdowns in a 19-14 win over Reidsville.

Mozes Morris, Lake Norman: Morris ran for 130 yards and completed a fake punt pass on a fourth down that set up a touchdown as the Wildcats stormed back from a 21-0 deficit in the third quarter to beat Marvin Ridge 23-21.

Tyler Mason, Mount Airy: Mason had eight carries for 172 yards and two touchdowns in a 49-7 win over Ashe County. Mason also set the new school record for career rushing touchdowns with 80 in the win.

Jamal Rule, Salisbury: Rule ran for 243 yards and three touchdowns on 30 carries as Salisbury rolled to a 31-6 win over Person.

Devin Walker, Olympic: Walker had 16 carries for 174 yards and a touchdown in a loss to Shelby.

Mekhi Herron, A.L. Brown: Herron accounted for four touchdowns in a 49-6 win against South Rowan. Herron ran for 156 yards and three scores on six carries and had 47 receiving yards and a touchdown.
