From playing under the lights on Friday nights to suiting up on Saturdays, it's about time for some of football's brightest young stars to take the next step in seeing their dreams become reality.

Each year near the beginning of the NFL draft process, the Senior Bowl features some of the top college football players in the country going against each other in an exhibition game, giving scouts another opportunity to see them up close in person — and allowing fans to see them represent their favorite college team one last time.

The 2024 Senior Bowl, set for Saturday at Mobile's Hancock Whitney Stadium on the campus of the University of South Alabama, features college stars like Bo Nix, Sam Hartman, Laiatu Latu, Ladd McConkey and more.

For players like Oregon State's Taliese Fuaga, a projected top-10 pick, and Florida State's Johnny Wilson, SBLive covered their early days at Mount Tahoma (Washington) and Calabasas (California), respectively.

Soon enough, they will be moving to new cities and representing new teams as they begin their NFL careers.

The Senior Bowl is being televised on NFL Network and is scheduled to kick off at 12:00 p.m. CT.

(FINAL): NATIONAL 16, AMERICAN 7

FOURTH QUARTER

-- Spencer Rattler is named the Senior Bowl's Most Valuable Player. The quarterback from Pinnacle (Arizona) and the University of South Carolina went 4-for-4 with 65 yards and one touchdown in a loss for the American team.

-- Chau Smith-Wade snags his second interception today on the final play of the game. Tulane quarterback Michael Pratt, formerly of Deerfield Beach (Florida), chucked the ball deep for a Hail Mary, and Smith-Wade came down with it.

-- What a stand by the American defense, getting three stops in a row from the 1-yard line. Joshua Karty comes back out and boots his third field goal of the day, this time from 20 yards out.

-- Joe Milton throws another interception. Washington State's Chau Smith-Wade, a former Simeon (Illinois) standout, nearly takes it all the way back for a score but is brought down at the 1-yard line.

-- Ladd McConkey, a University of Georgia standout from in-state high school North Murray, grabs his first reception of the game, and it goes for a first down. The American team moves near midfield with less than three minutes to go.

-- Both offenses are still struggling to find success. Neither team has found the end zone since the first quarter.

THIRD QUARTER

-- Karty comes through again for the National squad, nailing a 52-yard field goal on the final play of the third quarter.

-- Joshua Karty redeems himself from a missed field goal in the first half. The Western Alamance (NC) alum makes a 37-yard field goal to give National a three point lead.

-- Luke McCaffrey, the younger brother of San Francisco 49ers star Christian McCaffrey, shows off his hands with an impressive catch for a first down. The brothers both attended Valor Christian (Colorado) for high school.

SECOND QUARTER

-- Time runs out in the second quarter, ending a low-scoring first half between the American and National squads.

-- It's a turnover party in Mobile. One play after the fumble, Sam Hartman's pass is intercepted by Jarvis Brownlee, a University of Louisville defensive back from Miami Carol City (Florida).

-- A botched exchange by the center and quarterback for American results in a turnover for the National defense. Jaylen Harrell, a national champion from Michigan and former Berkeley Prep (Florida) standout, falls on the ball.

-- The defenses are dominating for both teams. American squad stands tall in the red zone and National misses a short field goal by Joshua Karty of Stanford and Western Alamance (North Carolina).

-- Will Reichard, the NCAA's all-time leading scorer from Hoover (Alabama) just misses on a 57-yard field goal attempt. The Alabama Crimson Tide legend had enough leg, but the ball bounced off the upright.

-- Evan Williams, a defensive back for the Oregon Ducks who previously played at Saint Francis (California), comes up with an interception in the end zone for the National squad.

FIRST QUARTER

-- Another change at quarterback, this time for the National offense. Notre Dame's Sam Hartman, former Oceanside (South Carolina) signal caller, gets a chance to show off his abilities.

-- Joe Milton, who went to Olympia (Florida) before starring at the University of Tennessee, takes over at quarterback for the American offense.

-- After a stop by the National defense, Bo Nix and the offense evens up the score. The University of Oregon quarterback hits former St. Cloud Technical (Minnesota) tight end Brevyn Spann-Ford for a touchdown.

-- National Team offense, led by former Pinson Valley (Alabama) quarterback Bo Nix, punts on its first drive. Here comes Spencer Rattler and the American offense for their second drive.

-- American finds the end zone on the game's opening drive. Spencer Rattler connects with Marcus Rosemy-Jacksaint, a University of Georgia receiver from St. Thomas Aquinas (Florida).

-- They're ready to start in Mobile. The National team kicks off to American, sending out an American offense led by quarterback Spencer Rattler, former Pinnacle (Arizona) standout.
