Jackson Shelstad lifts Oregon basketball past Michigan in OT with game-winning 3: Look
It didn't take long for Jackson Shelstad to start leaving his mark on the college basketball world.
The former West Linn (Oregon) standout, now a freshman for the University of Oregon men's basketball team, drained a deep three-pointer to lift the Ducks past Michigan in overtime Saturday, 86-83.
Shelstad finished the game with 14 points (2-for-3 on three pointers) and one assist. It was the most points scored in the young college career for the guard, who has only appeared in three games this season.
A five-star recruit in the class of 2023, Shelstad picked to stay home and play for Oregon over college offers from Kansas, UCLA, Houston and more.
As a senior at West Linn, Shelstad led the Lions on a magical run that included a win over Bronny James and Sierra Canyon (California) plus Ron Holland and then-No. 1 Duncanville (Texas).
Shelstad was a candidate for National Player of the Year, as West Linn finished at No. 19 in the final SBLive/Sports Illustrated Power 25 national rankings of the season.
