American Heritage defats King’s Academy: Florida high school football playoffs updates (11/18/2023)
The Florida high school football playoffs continued Saturday with more action from the regional semifinals.
Nationally ranked American Heritage (9-1) took the next step in its quest for a Class 2M state championship with an emphatic 49-7 win over King’s Academy (9-3).
The playoff game was originally scheduled for Friday night at American Heritage’s home field in Plantation, but rain caused the game to be postponed and moved to a different location.
American Heritage entered the contest ranked No. 3 in Florida and No. 16 in the SBLive/Sports Illustrated Power 25 national rankings.
The Patriots have now won seven games in a row since taking their first and only loss of the season to Chaminade-Madonna, the No. 2 team in Florida and No. 4 team nationally.
