Georgia football flips elite Tennessee high school DB to nation's No. 1 class

Christ Presbyterian Academy (Tennessee) 4-star CB Ondre Evans announced flip from LSU to Kirby Smart, Bulldogs Wednesday morning

LSU landed 11 prospects over a strong summer 2023 where the program was recruiting what is now considered the nation's No. 3 class, per On3.

One of those commits was Christ Presbyterian (Tennessee) defensive back Ondre Evans, a 4-star, the nation's No. 10 corner and the top-rated recruit in Tennessee in 2024, who committed to LSU in June.

On Wednesday, 247 Sports' Steve Wiltfong  and On3's Hayes Fawcett reported the 6-foot, 185-pound corner had flipped his commitment to Georgia.

Evans' relationship with UGA defensive backs coach Fran Brown was reportedly pivotal in the decision.

Georgia, the two-time defending national champions and nation's No. 1 team, also has the nation's No. 1 recruiting class in 2024.

The Bulldogs were in a top 5 he released in June that also included North Carolina State, Alabama and Michigan.

It's headlined by Buford (Georgia) quarterback Dylan Raiola, the nation's No. 1 prospect and 5-star corner Ellis Robinson IV and linebacker Justin Williams.

Alongside Robinson IV, Evans joins a class that also includes Swainsboro (Georgia) 4-star DB  Demello Jones.

Evans fielded more than 30 offers, including from Alabama and Arkansas.

As a junior, Evans had 38 tackles, five pass break-ups, two picks and a forced fumble, leading CPA to a Tennessee Division II title appearance.

Through eight games as a senior, Evans is having a strong season for CPA (7-1). He's logged eight solo tackles and two pass deflections.
