Brandon Phelps, Arizona Wildcats football commit, breaks receiving records set by Christian Kirk

The Jacksonville Jaguars receiver had two of his state records broken by the senior at American Leadership Academy Gilbert North (Arizona)

Christian Kirk set Arizona high school football records before starring at Texas A&M University and taking his talents to the NFL, where he currently plays for the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Brandon Phelps, a senior at American Leadership Academy Gilbert North and Arizona Wildcats commit, just broke two state records set by Kirk during his high school career at Saguaro

Phelps set Arizona high school records on Friday by reaching 52 receiving touchdowns and more than 3,943 receiving yards in his career.

A three-star recruit, Phelps is the nation's No. 143 receiver and No. 22 overall player in Arizona for the class of 2024, per the 247Sports composite rankings.

The 6-foot-3 receiver committed to Arizona last December, choosing the Wildcats over Arizona State, Colorado State and others.

A former five-star recruit, Kirk graduated from Saguaro in 2015. He was the state's top-ranked player in his class and a top 25 recruit nationally.

The Arizona Cardinals drafted Kirk in the second round of the 2018 NFL draft, and he is currently the leading receiver for the Jaguars.
