Beaverton girls basketball
The Beavers (16-1) started the week Tuesday with a 44-31 win at Jesuit in a showdown for first place in the Metro League. Zoe Borter led Beaverton with 17 points. Beaverton extended its win streak to 10 games with a 50-31 win over Westview on Friday.
Cascade boys basketball
The Cougars (13-3) moved to the top of the Oregon West Conference with a 42-36 win over Philomath on Tuesday.
Central Catholic boys basketball
The Rams (15-4) moved to the top of the Mt. Hood Conference with three wins last week, capped by a 49-41 decision over Barlow on Saturday. Jordan King led the Rams with 11 points as Central Catholic extended its win streak to 13 games.
Clackamas girls basketball
The Cavaliers (18-2) never trailed in a 65-58 home win over Barlow on Wednesday to force a tie for first place in the Mt. Hood Conference. Jazzy Davidson led the Cavaliers with 28 points.
Cleveland boys basketball
The Warriors (15-3) moved to the top of the PIL with three wins last week, highlighted by a 66-54 victory at Roosevelt on Thursday night. The Warriors put on a 14-point burst in the fourth quarter to take charge. Christian Green finished with a game-high 18 points.
Crane girls basketball
The Mustangs (21-1) won three straight road games last week, highlighted by a 66-43 victory against Nixyaawii — the leader of the Old Oregon League. Crane finished the week with a 50-35 win over Jordan Valley in a battle for High Desert supremacy.
Faith Bible girls basketball
The Falcons (20-1) finished the week alone atop the Northwest League after Thursday’s 45-40 home win over Vernonia.
La Grande girls wrestling
The Tigers, who finished 12th at regionals a year ago, won the Eastern district title and qualified three wrestlers for state, including district champions Dora Galindo (105) and Delia Gulzow (115).
Madras girls basketball
The White Buffaloes (11-7) held off Gladstone 52-20 in a battle for first place in the Tri-Valley Conference on Wednesday, followed by a 47-39 win at Molalla on Friday.
McKay girls wrestling
Led by four state qualifiers, including 100 champion Sarahi Chavez, the Scots romped to a 90-point victory over Woodburn at the Valley district championships.
Scappoose boys basketball
Scappoose (11-6) stayed in a tie for first place in the Northwest Oregon Conference with a 54-52 win at La Salle Prep on Thursday.
St. Helens girls wrestling
Ashley Willis (110) and Cambria Funk (170) won individual titles, and the Lions qualified a district-high six wrestlers to state and edged Hillsboro by 18.5 points for the Northwest district championship.
South Medford boys basketball
The Panthers (15-2) knocked off rival North Medford 67-39 to move alone into first place in the Southwest Conference.
South Medford girls basketball
The Panthers (16-3) went 4-0 this past week, highlighted by a 52-49 win at Sheldon on Saturday in a battle for first place in the Southwest Conference.
Summit boys basketball
The Storm (17-0) stayed perfect on the season, rising alone to the top of the Mountain Valley Conference with a convincing 77-53 win over second-place Sprague on Thursday. Julian Mora led the charge with 20 points.
Sutherlin girls basketball
The Bulldogs (19-1) stand alone in first place in the Far West League after Saturday’s 58-35 win at Brookings Harbor.
Thurston girls wrestling
The two-time defending state champion Colts held off a strong charge by North Medford to win the Southwest district title by 34 points. Kaylee Annis (105), Kristal Zamora (130) and Averie Stockwell (145) won individual championships.
Union girls basketball
The Bobcats (18-3) edged Stanfield 32-31 on Friday in a battle atop the Blue Mountain Conference.
West Linn boys basketball
The Lions (13-2) won all three of their games last week, vaulting to the top of the Three Rivers League with a 76-69 win at Lake Oswego on Thursday. Zeke Viuhkola led the Lions with 26 points.
West Salem girls basketball
The Titans (11-7) stayed perfect in the Mountain Valley Conference with a 57-48 home win over second-place South Salem on Thursday.
