Christopher Cordero, Junior, Desert Edge
Helping Desert Edge to a sweeping 43-7 victory over Canyon View, Cordero had 185 yards and two touchdowns on 19 carries in the 5A playoffs.
Carter Crispin, Junior, Red Mountain
He finished the night completing 12 of 18 pass attempts for just under 120 yards and a touchdown in the 20-19 win against Centennial in the 6A bracket.
Serge Gboweiah, Senior, Desert View
Rushing for 283 yards and three touchdowns on 28 carries, the senior helped the Jaguars defeat the Millennium Tigers 26-13 in the 5A bracket with one of the best postseason performances in Southern Arizona history.
Nicholas Harris, Senior, Horizon
Helping the Huskies to a 49-0 rout of Cactus Shadows in the 5A bracket, Harris had five solo tackles, a sack and an interception returned 19 yards to help Horizon continue rolling.
Rowan McKenzie, Sophomore, Boulder Creek
Completing 18 of 37 pass attempts for 247 yards and three touchdowns, McKenzie helped the Jaguars show the future is bright despite their 41-28 loss to Williams Field in the 6A bracket. He also rushed for 81 yards on 11 carries.
Brayten Silbor, Senior, Chaparral
The senior who recently reopened his recruitment will be drawing a lot of eyes for his performance in the first round of the 6A playoffs against Perry. In a 33-7 rout of the Pumas, Silbor completed 14 of his 18 pass attempts for 201 yards and three touchdowns.
Kyler Thruston, Sophomore, Northwest Christian
Despite the Crusaders’ heartbreaking 39-37 loss to the Poston Butte Broncos in the 4A bracket, Thruston had a phenomenal night. He had seven receptions for 181 yards and two touchdowns.
Anthony Wilhite, Senior, Salpointe Catholic
The running back picked up 207 yards on 28 carries with three touchdowns in Salpointe Catholic’s historic 63-24 rout of Sunnyslope in the 5A bracket. His performance was not only good for his first 200-plus yard night of the year, it also helped him break 1,000 rushing yards on the season.
