Every week during the 2020-2021 boys basketball season, SBLive will rank the Top 10 high school boys basketball teams in the state of Mississippi, regardless of classification.

Here are the SBLive Power 10 boys basketball rankings for Jan. 25, as compiled by SBLive Sports reporter Tyler Cleveland. (Feature photo by Keith Warren)



Jan. 25, 2021

1. Clinton (13-0)

Last week: No. 1

The top-ranked Arrows followed up Monday’s 68-50 win over Starkville with a 106-50 win over Madison Central Tuesday and a 98-73 win over Murrah Friday night.

2. Callaway (6-0)

Last week: No. 2

The Chargers only played one game last week, beating Harrison Central 85-65 in the Rumble in the South Monday. Friday’s game against Provine was postponed. The Chargers return to action Tuesday night at home against Ridgeland.

3. Forest Hill (14-1)

Last week: No. 3

The Patriots edged Oak Grove 47-45 to kick off last week, then went on to beat Jim Hill 75-32 and Wingfield 69-43. Their only loss is to Callaway back on Dec. 29.

4. Oak Grove (11-1)

Last week: No. 4

The Warriors bounced back from their first loss of the season last Monday with an 89-70 win over Hattiesburg and an 84-35 win over George County.

5. Pontotoc (19-3)

Last week: No. 5

The Warriors’ winning streak hit double-digits last week after a 79-59 win over South Pontotoc Tuesday and a 77-70 victory over Shannon Friday night. They’ve got a big game against Itawamba AHS Tuesday.

6. Starkville (14-2)

Last week: No. 6

The Yellowjackets stepped out of region play twice last week with mixed results. After falling to top-ranked Clinton 68-60 on Monday, they beat the brakes off of West Point 64-23 on Tuesday. 

7. Biloxi (11-1)

Last week: No. 8

The Indians picked up two key region wins last week, beating Ocean Springs 58-51 and D’Iberville 50-41.

8. Raymond (16-3)

Last week: No. 7

The Rangers were flying high after knocking off Madison-Ridgeland Academy Monday, but dropped a 76-54 loss to Lanier Tuesday. They bounced back with an 84-51 win over Lawrence County Friday night.

9. Florence (15-0)

Last week: NR

The Eagles stayed unbeaten last week, and move into the Top 10 after beating Hartfield Academy 62-44 in the Rumble in the South, Northeast Jones 65-47 at home and Richland 60-50 on the road.

10. Vicksburg (10-6)

Last week: No. 10

The Gators only played one game last week, but survived a scare against Provine by pulling out a 42-41 win at home.
