Super Bowl 2024: High schools where all the SF 49ers, KC Chiefs played football

32 states are represented on the San Francisco and Kansas City rosters in the biggest sporting event of the year

High school football is bigger in Texas than anywhere else in the country, and the 2024 Super Bowl rosters reflect that.

More Kansas City Chiefs and San Francisco 49ers played high school football in Texas than any other state, with Florida, California, Georgia and Michigan rounding out the top five.

Super Bowl 58 starts at 3:30 p.m. Pacific time Sunday at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas (TV on CBS).

Last year's Super Bowl between the Chiefs and Philadelphia Eagles featured a strange coincidence of six pairs of opponents having graduated from the same high school, with Jason and Travis Kelce being the most notable. (You might catch Jason Kelce shirtless in a pro-KC suite Sunday with Taylor Swift and crew).

This year there are no high school teammates-turned-opponents, and only one high school has more than one representative. Fayetteville High in Arkansas is the only one with two, and both players are on the 49ers.

Thirty-two states and one country/continent (Australia) are represented on the Super Bowl rosters this year.

Here are all the 49ers and Chiefs on the teams' active rosters Sunday, grouped by state in alphabetical order, with the last high school each player attended in parentheses. Players on the injured/reserve list are included, but practice squad players are not.
