Each week during the 2023-24 high school boys basketball season, SBLive Sports will gather the best performances across the country with the help of fans, readers and staff.

Now, it’s your turn to choose a standout among the pack, the best of the best.

Here are the nominees for SBLive’s National High School Boys Basketball Player of the Week for Jan. 22-28. Voting closes on Monday, Feb. 5, at 11:59 (Pacific Time).

SBLive National High School Boys Basketball Player of the Week candidates

Timmy Anderson, so., Blair (California)

Anderson remained red-hot in a 107-78 victory over Sherman Oaks CES, pouring in 51 points.

Kelan Collins, so., Mexia (Texas)

Collins erupted for 40 points in a 98-70 rout of Palestine Westwood.

Elijah Crispin, jr., Pitman (New Jersey)

Crispin netted 36 points — including the 1,000th of his Pitman career — in a 71-60 win over Salem. He is the fourth member of his family to score 1,000 points at Pitman. The Crispins and Camden’s Wagner family (Milt, Dajuan and DJ) are the only families in South Jersey history with three generations of 1,000-point scorers.

Jacob Dunkle, sr., Trinity (Pennsylvania)

Dunkle scored a career-best 32 points in an 85-51 victory over Connellsville.

Aidan Fowler, sr., JSerra (California)

Fowler led the way with 36 points as JSerra defeated Mater Dei for the first time in program history, 68-62.

Damian Gaona, sr., Legacy (California)

Gaona had 40 points, 12 rebounds, three assists and four blocks in a 69-51 win over South Gate. Later in the week, he put up 46 points and 13 rebounds as Legacy took down Huntington Park, 80-69.

Peter Hakim, sr., American Prep West Valley (Utah)

Hakim dished out 26 assists — a new Utah single-game record — as American Prep West Valley blew by Utah Military Hillfield, 101- 42. The senior also scored 23 points.

Champ Hayden, sr., North Hills Christian (North Carolina)

Hayden put up 41 points in a 109-69 victory over Lee Christian.

Brooks Johnson, jr., Duluth Marshall (Minnesota)

Johnson erupted for 50 points in a 96-84 loss to Hermantown. The junior eclipsed the 2,000 career points mark during the game.

David Katoa, sr., Layton (Utah)

Katoa, a Utah signee, had 32 points as Layton downed Weber, 82-70.

Sam Lewis, sr., Nelson (Oregon)

Lewis poured in 39 points as Nelson edged Gresham, 73-66.

Austin Maurer, sr., Cascade Christian (Oregon)

Maurer, a Grand Canyon signee, tallied 40 points, 11 rebounds and four steals in a 91-35 victory over Sutherlin.

AJ Morman, sr., Sacred Heart of Jesus (Tennessee)

Morman led the way with 31 points in a 71-70 overtime win over Trinity Christian Academy.

Braylon Mullins, jr., Greenfield-Central (Indiana)

Mullins, a four-star junior shooting guard, had 51 points — including the game-winning 3-pointer at the buzzer — as Greenfield-Central knocked off Pendleton Heights, 74-72. Mullins also tallied five rebounds, three assists and three steals.

Braydon Olson, sr., Mark Morris (Washington)

Olson scored 45 points — a new Mark Morris single-game record — in a 99-31 win over Fort Vancouver. The previous record of 44 was held by Steve Trotter, who also did his damage against Fort Vancouver in 2002. A few days later, Olson broke his own record with a 47-point explosion in a 73-65 victory over Hockinson.

Victor Payne, sr., Cromwell (Connecticut)

Payne netted a career-best 42 points in a 76-45 win over Coginchaug.

Travis Perry, sr., Lyon County (Kentucky)

Perry had 37 points in a 72-54 win over Owensboro Catholic. Later in the week, the four-star Kentucky signee scored his 5,000th career point in a 50-48 loss to Newport. Perry is the all-time leading scorer in Kentucky history.

Tristan Reed, so., John Burroughs (Missouri)

Reed had 31 points — a new career high — and 11 rebounds in an 80-61 win over Granite City. The sophomore went 13 of 15 from the floor and also blocked four shots.

Caleb Shilling, sr., East Canton (Ohio)

Shilling did everything he could in a 79-77 overtime loss to Crestwood, finishing with 43 points and 14 rebounds. He also scored his 1,000th career point in the game.

Kase Wynott, sr., Lapwai (Idaho)

Wynott became the leading scorer in Idaho history in a 99-47 win over Clearwater Valley. The Utah State signee finished with 29 points, 11 rebounds and seven assists. He was sitting on 2,613 career points after the win, surpassing the previous record of 2,589 set by Kamiah’s Jared Mercer in 1993.
