Landon Frey's incredible catch named high school football National Play of the Year in 2023

The North Marion (West Virginia) receiver's acrobatic one-handed TD grab earned 61,365 votes

SBLive readers voted in droves last week for the National Play of the Year in high school football, and North Marion (West Virginia) receiver Landon Frey's touchdown grab took the crown.

Frey's one-handed catch was initially ruled incomplete, but the call was correctly overturned after replay showed definitively that he got one foot down in the end zone while maintaining possession of the ball.

Frey's highlight-reel reception earned 61,365 votes (55.28%), beating out Ronnie Royal III's one-handed interception for Gulf Shores (Alabama), which received 39,438 votes (35.53%).

Congratulations, Landon Frey and the North Marion Huskies!
