PREGAME READING

Though Coosa Christian's official record is 9-5, the Conquerors had to forfeit four wins early this season after the AHSAA ruled they had used ineligible players.

Coosa Christian enters the state championship game riding an eight-game win streak.

The Conquerors made it to the state semifinals last year, its longest run in the playoffs since becoming an AHSAA program in 2005.

Leroy, the defending state champion, is 13-0, and the Bears have looked like a team on a mission to repeat.

They average more than 38 points per game and have held all but one opponent to 18 points or fewer.
