St. Ignatius beats Mentor again: Live updates recap
High school football playoff season is here again in Ohio, and we already have an upset.
No. 12 seed St. Ignatius (3-8) beat No. 5 Mentor (7-4) in the first round Friday, the Wildcats' second win over the Cardinals this season.

FINAL: St. Ignatius 10, Mentor 7
FOURTH QUARTER UPDATES
FIELD GOAL NO GOOD! St. Ignatius will win this one 10-7 barring a very strange final three seconds.
Fourth and 8 for Mentor with 22 seconds left on the St. Ignatius 24.
It's a bad punt and Mentor starts on its own 40, 2:29 to go.
St. Ignatius gets one first down, but Mentor stops the Wildcats at their own 35 and will get the ball back with 2:35 remaining to get the tying or winning score.
TOUCHDOWN MENTOR! A quick 46-yard touchdown catch-and-run for Austin VanHuss is just what the Cardinals need. St. Ignatius leads 10-7 with 4:53 left in the game.
Big stop by the Cardinals on third and 8. They'll have the ball on their own 38 with 5:10 left in the game needing two scores.
INTERCEPTION MENTOR! Caden Markowski picks it off at the Cardinals 25. Mentor has a quick three-and-out, however, and punts it back to St. Ignatius with 9:42 to play.

TOUCHDOWN ST. IGNATIUS! Cody Haddad makes a 17-yard TD catch to extend the Wildcats' lead to 10-0. Grant Washington with a 57-yard run on the drive to set it up. 2:24 left in the quarter.
FIELD GOAL BLOCKED! St. Ignatius with a huge play on a short attempt to keep a 3-0 lead. Wildcats ball on their own 20 with 5:59 left in the quarter.
INTERCEPTION MENTOR! Kellen Graham gets an acrobatic pick. Mentor ball on its own 40 after a Cardinals penalty.
Second half is underway! St. Ignatius gets the ball first and will start at its own 26. The Wildcats' Max Ritt left the field with an injury on the opening kickoff.

Although the Cardinals are trailing at halftime, Mentor's Spencer Barninger made the play of the half with this crushing hit:
