Four-star defensive end from Fremont of Oakland thanks Stanford staff on Twitter but decides to go back on recruiting market

The San Francisco Bay Area's top recruit from the Class of 2024 is back on the market.

Naki Tuakoi, a 6-foot-4, 222-pound edge rusher from Fremont of Oakland, announced on Twitter Monday night he has decommited from Stanford.

The 4-star recruit, rated the No. 24 edge rusher in the nation and No. 29 recruit overall in California according to 247Sports, committed to Stanford in June.

He has 18 offers overall and took official visits to Arizona and Stanford in June, before picking the Cardinal on June 12.

In his tweet, he said that the Stanford staff "has been nothing but supportive and has shown me love throughout the entire recruiting process." He went on to write that he has "nothing but great things to say about" the program and coaches.

Among his other offers are from Notre Dame, Tennessee, Oregon, Cal and USC.

Its been a rough season for his Fremont Tigers, who are 0-7 and been outscored 174-48. They've lost two games by forfeit. In their closest game of the season, the Tigers dropped a 10-9 game to Oakland Tech last week and are scheduled to host Skyline on Friday.
