Columbus (Florida)

Columbus' defense is devastating, as half of the Explorers' games have been shutouts and they've allowed just six total touchdowns through six games.

The defense is led by pass rushers Willis McGahee IV, a four-star Nebraska commit who transferred from Miami Palmetto in December, and Dylan Stephenson, a four-star Stanford commit. Three-star Miami commit Daylen Russell is a force at defensive tackle.

Senior Alberto Mendoza is back at quarterback this year after leading Columbus to a 4M state championship last year.

Homestead (Florida)

After a one-point loss in its season opener to Palmetto, Homestead has won three in a row by a combined score of 125-7.

Senior quarterback Joshua Townsend enters the game with 747 passing yards and 11 touchdowns with two interceptions, having completed 71% of his passes. He led Homestead to the 3M state championship game as a junior.

His top targets at receiver are four-star junior Cortez Mills and three-star senior James Randle, while four-star Louisville commit Isaac Brown is a big-play threat at running back.
