Look: Miami commit Zaquan Patterson steals ball, drags receiver, races in for pick-six

The Chaminade-Madonna (Florida) defensive back's touchdown shows strength, speed and mostly tenacity

Zaquan Patterson wouldn't be denied.

The five-star Chaminade-Madonna (Florida) safety started by wrestling an apparent catch away from Cardinal Gibbons (Florida) receiver Antonio Lindsay.

Once Patterson had the ball, Lindsay tried to bring him down by the legs.

Patterson wasn't having it.

He shook out of Lindsay's grasp, broke free and cut through the rest of the defense for a pick-six Friday night in Chaminade-Madonna's 41-4 rout of Cardinal Gibbons.

Check out the play:

Patterson committed to Miami last weekend during halftime of the Lions' nationally televised win over St. Frances (Maryland).

"I feel like it was the best opportunity for me," Patterson told ESPN on the broadcast. "I feel I can make the most impact on that team, and I just want to see Miami great again. I want to be part of that process."

He racked up 69 tackles and picked off two passes last year and is well on his way to a huge final season of high school football.
