Tristan Reed, John Burroughs' 2026 power forward, posts career-high 31 points in win
ST. LOUIS, MISSOURI – John Burroughs sophomore Tristan Reed has been one of the breakout performers in Missouri high school boys basketball this season and showed why again on Saturday.
Reed established a new career high with 31 points in an 80-61 win over Granite City (Ill.) at the Vashon Winter Classic.
A 6-foot-8, 225-pound power forward, Reed scored his 31 points on 13-of-15 shooting and added 11 rebounds and four blocked shots.
Reed averaged 6.9 points, 6.4 rebounds and 1.9 blocked shots per game a year ago in 27 games as a freshman as John Burroughs went 21-7.
Through his first 20 games this season, he is averaging 18.5 points, 9.8 rebounds and 2.55 blocks per game – all team bests – as the Bombers have surged to a 17-3 record.
Reed's older brother, Tarris Reed Jr., is a sophomore power forward at Michigan after playing his high school basketball at Chaminade in the St. Louis area and then finishing his high school career at Link Academy.
Now Tristan is establishing himself as a big-time Division I prospect himself as he continues to grow and his powerful post game develops.
He received his first scholarship offers – from Kansas State, Saint Louis University, Michigan and Mississippi State – back in July and then added an offer from Missouri in December.
