Jadis Jones, top uncommitted basketball prospect in Missouri, scores career-high 43 points in rivalry win

Former D-1 football commit now looking to play basketball in college

New Madrid County Central senior swingman Jadis Jones has been playing the best basketball of his high school career the past few weeks.

The high-flying, high-scoring 6-foot-5 senior came into his final season with an impressive list of accomplishments already, including winning the Missouri Class 3 championship and Class 3 player of the year award as a junior as well as earning two conference player of the year honors as well as two all-state selections.

Now, he's taking his game to another level.

Jones set a new career-high with 43 points and grabbed 16 rebounds in a 76-63 win over rival Charleston on Tuesday night as his Eagles improved to 12-1.

Take a look at some of his highlights:

Jones has been worth the price of admission for years now as one of the Show-Me State's most electrifying players. He's also the top uncommitted prospect in Missouri in the Class of 2024.

Also a standout on the football field – he set several school records this fall when he caught 54 passes for 1,043 yards and 18 touchdowns – Jones committed to play football at Coastal Carolina back in the summer but backed off that commitment on December 16 when he announced he was decommitting, closing his recruitment for football and reopening his recruitment to play basketball in college.

Southeast Missouri State basketball coach Brad Korn and his assistant coaches reportedly watched Jones in action recently when he put on a show in a win over Cape Notre Dame.
