Blue Springs' Jayla Cornelius voted SBLive’s Missouri High School Athlete of the Week (1/8/2024)
Congratulations to Blue Springs girls basketball player Jayla Cornelius, who was voted the SBLive Missouri High School Athlete of the Week for December 25-31.
She received more than 55 percent of the total votes cast for the week.
Cornelius, a senior, scored her 1,000th career point for the Wildcats in a 51-40 loss to rival Blue Springs South.
Truman girls basketball player Layla Scott finished second in the voting after receiving more than 24 percent of the votes.
