Here are the candidates for SBLive's Missouri High School Athlete of the Week as nominated by fans, readers and SBLive’s staff.

Andrew Baklanov, Rockhurst boys swimming and diving
The junior won the 100-yard backstroke and added two more titles by swimming on the 200-yard medley and 400-yard freestyle for the Hawklets – who won the Class 2 championship.
Zach Barnes, Jefferson City football
The Jays continue to dominate on the ground and had 342 yards in a 37-34 win over top-seeded Pleasant Hill on Friday. Barnes had 100 yards and three scores for Jefferson City in the Class 4 District 5 title game.
Trey Bass, Lutheran North football
A junior wide receiver, Bass had four touchdowns and 259 yards on five catches in the Crusaders’ 54-14 victory on Friday over Clayton/Brentwood co-op. Bass had touchdown catches of 18, 59, 59 and 88 from Dakarri Hollis.
Tyler Bax, Blair Oaks football
After falling behind early, Bax helped the Falcons rally with 59 unanswered points in a 59-7 win over Moberly on Friday. The first-year starter had three touchdown passes and ran for two more.
Stephen Becvar, Father Tolton boys soccer
He reached 60 goals in his career thanks to a hat trick in a 4-0 win over Missouri Military Academy on Monday in the Class 1 District 6 title game.
Zachary Berg, Pembroke Hill boys swimming and diving
The Raiders’ diver claimed the Class 1 diving title with a score of 394.10 – winning by more than 10 points.
Austin Bergmann, Bishop DuBourg boys soccer
Bergmann recorded a hat trick in the Cavalier's 4-0 win over Metro on Saturday to advance to the Class 1 semifinals. The has scored a team-high 39 goals this season.
KeyShawn Boyd, Cape Central football
The running back accounted for a pair of touchdowns in the Tigers’ 37-13 win over Farmington in the Class 5 District 1 title game on Friday. His 18-yarder broke a 7-7 tie, while he tied an MSHSAA state record with a 99-yard run in the second half.
Jack Brinkman, Springfield Central boys soccer
He had a pair of goals – both on passes from Isaac Garcia – to give third-seeded Central a 2-1 win over top-seeded Webb City in the Class 3 District 6 title game on Monday.
Larry Cascone, St. Pius X (KC) football
In a rematch of a conference clash, Cascone had 40 carries for 247 yards and three scores to help the Warriors beat Maryville, 41-13, in a district championship game.
Jack Cheaney, Nevada football
The standout running back helped the Tigers pick up a 33-13 win over Carl Junction and the first district title in 25 years. He ran for 193 yards on 32 carries and four touchdowns.
Trevor Codak, Eureka football
Codak, a sophomore, scored five touchdowns in the Wildcats' 35-17 win at previously-unbeaten Rockwood Summit. He ran for 162 yards and four scores on 20 carries and also caught a 69-yard touchdown pass.
Yusef Deiab, Orchard Farm boys soccer
The Eagles hammered Fulton 8-0 in a Class 2 playoff game. Dieab had three goals and added an assist as well.
Destyn Dowd, McDonald County football
The Mustangs quarterback helped the school win its first-ever district title with a 40-21 win over Bolivar. He had four touchdowns on the ground and threw another one, finishing with 144 yards on 29 carries.
Ian Everett, Liberty boys swimming and diving
The Indiana pledge won the 50-yard freestyle with a new state record time of 20.35. He also added another top-of-the-podium finish in the 100-yard freestyle. He was named the MISCA Boys Class 2 swimmer of the year.
Jaylen Hampton, Jackson football
The standout freshman scored three touchdowns in the first quarter – two on the ground – in a 55-21 win against Seckman.
Ethan Hansen, Rockhurst football
A senior quarterback, Hansen threw three touchdowns – two to Jack Bichelmeyer – to help the Hawklets upset No. 1-ranked Lee’s Summit North 24-21.
Dakarri Hollis, Lutheran North football
Hollis was 14 of 16 passing for 349 yards and all four of his touchdown passes went to Trey Bass. The junior quarterback now had 41 touchdowns on the year with zero interceptions.
Gavyn Hoover, Seneca football
The senior guided the Indians to a third straight district title. He had touchdown runs of 15, 23, 12 and added a 50-yard run that set up a touchdown run by Jackson Marrs.
Landin Hoyle, Rockwood Summit boys soccer
He had a hat trick and added an assist on Christian Goforth’s goal in a 4-1 win over Farmington on Saturday in a Class 3 playoff game.
Karvon Jefferson, Lutheran North football
The junior safety/linebacker had 15 tackles, seven tackles for loss, and two sacks in the Crusaders’ victory over Clayton.
William Jost, Parkway Central boys swimming and diving
The senior won the state title in the 50- and 100-yard freestyle at the MSHSAA Class 1 championship this weekend in St. Peters. Jost was also part of two school records in the 200-yard freestyle relay and 200-yard medley relay.
Matthew Judkins Jr., Chaminade boys swimming and diving
The senior had a pair of championships in the Class 2 finals, winning the 100-yard butterfly and the 200-yard individual medley.
Kellen Lair, Fair Grove football
The Eagles beat Strafford 26-10 in the Class 2 District 4 finals and Lair had three touchdowns and 181 yards on the ground.
Cameron Lee, Father Tolton football
The Trailblazers beat Warsaw, 40-7, to win the school’s first district title. The senior had two touchdown catches on passes from Jake Ryan, ran for a score and had a 15-yard interception return as well.
Maxwell Marcus, Kirkwood boys swimming and diving
The senior won the 200-yard freestyle and added another gold in the 500-yard freestyle in the Class 2 finals.
Tate Marquardt, St. Francis Borgia football
He had two touchdown receptions from Koen Zeltmann and also added a 60-yard run in a 42-25 win over St. Clair.
Stewart McDonald, Logan-Rogersville boys soccer
He recorded a hat trick in a 4-0 win over Bolivar in the Class 2 District 5 finals on Tuesday for the Wildcats.
Malachi Rider, Nixa football
The senior had three touchdown runs to help the Eagles beat Joplin, 56-34, in the Class 6 District 5 title game.
Whitaker Steward, Kearney boys swimming and diving
The sophomore broke the state Class 1 record in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 1:39.11. He later added a title and a new state record in the 500-yard freestyle 4:26.14.
Kason Teale, Maryville boys soccer
He recorded both goals in a 2-1 playoff win for the Spoofhounds over College Heights Christian on Saturday.
Max Van Stone, Chaminade boys swimming and diving
The Red Devils picked up a state title in the Class 2 diving competition with Van Stone winning by 15 points. He’s the fourth diver in his school history to win a title and the first since 1995.
Caleb Warner, Lafayette (Wildwood) boys swimming and diving
The Lancers got a pair of titles from the senior. Warner won the 200-yard individual medley and added another gold in the 100-yard breaststroke.

Austin Weaver, Helias football
The Crusaders' quarterback ran for a pair of scores and passed for three more – twice to Sam Lopez – in a 41-6 win against Capital City in the Class 5 District 5 championship game.
Aneyas Williams, Hannibal football
The Notre Dame pledge had 26 carries for 331 yards and scored four touchdowns in a 55-32 win over Warrenton.
Ty Williams, Grain Valley football
In a 27-25 win over Platte County, Williams ran the ball 26 times for 286 yards and three first-half touchdowns. He also became the school’s single-season rushing leader in yards and touchdowns.
Wyatt Woods, Republic football
The quarterback guided the Tigers into the quarterfinals for the first time in 28 years after a 35-32 win over Lebanon on Friday. Woods ran for two scores and threw another to Caide White.
