Heidelberg Oilers WR/S Julius Bradley voted SBLive Mississippi High School Athlete of the Week

The senior led the Oilers past the defending state champion Bay Springs with 145 rushing yards and 10 tackles

Congratulations to Heidelberg senior two-way star Julius Bradley on winning the fan vote for SBLive Mississippi High School Athlete of the Week for Nov. 6-12!

Bradley was a man on a mission for the Oilers in a second-round, 20-14 playoff win over Bay Springs, rushing for 145 yards and a touchdown on 12 carries and racking up 10 tackles on defense.

His performance garnered 28,567 votes from fans across Mississippi, representing 51.5 percent of the 55,479 total votes cast. That was just enough to beat out Pearl linebacker Kayvion Freeman, who finished second with 21,462 votes (38.7 percent).

Here’s a look at the other nominees from last week:

Xavier Boler, RB, Union

Rushed for 206 yards and two touchdowns on 22 carries in a 42-18 win over Leflore County.

Will Echoles, OL/DL, Houston

Recorded eight tackles, including three for a loss, one sack and recovered a fumble in a 21-20 win over Senatobia.

Kayvion Freeman, LB, Pearl

Had eight tackles, including four for a loss, and a fumble recovery in the Pirates’ 17-13 win over Gulfport.

R.J. Hall, ATH, Terry

Caught three passes for 61 yards with two touchdowns, rushed for 16 yards and one touchdown, returned an interception 34 yards for a touchdown and returned kickoffs for touchdowns of 82 and 99 yards in a 41-39 win over George County.

Daniel Hill, RB, Meridian

Rushed for 144 yards on 23 carries with three touchdowns and caught a pair of passes for 55 more yards in the Wildcats’ 35-23 win over Ocean Springs.

Prentavis Madison, ATH, Simmons

Rushed for 201 yards and three touchdowns on 21 carries on offense and recorded six tackles and two interceptions on defense in a 56-21 win over Sacred Heart. He returned one of those picks for a 50-yard touchdown.

Jalen Washington, RB/LB, Houston

Rushed for 185 yards and a touchdown on 19 carries and recorded four tackles an forced a fumble on defense in a 21-20 win over Senatobia.
