Rosa Fort's Christian Alexander voted SBLive Mississippi High School Athlete of the Week

Alexander went for 218 yards and five touchdowns, earning more than 34,000 votes from fans

Congratulations to Rosa Fort tailback Christian Alexander for winning the fan vote for SBLive High School Athlete of the Week for the week of Monday, Oct. 16!

Alexander rushed for 218 yards and five touchdowns in a 62-32 win over Holly Springs, and that performance garnered nearly 35,000 votes from football fans across the Magnolia State.

His vote tally represented 51.8 percent of more than 67,000 total votes cast, narrowly beating out Wilkinson County wide receiver Jaquel Dukes, who finished with 27,448 votes (40.9 percent).

Here’s a look at all the nominees from last week:

Tedarrius Aych, RB, South Pike

Rushed 31 times for 244 yards and three touchdowns in a 30-22 win over Jefferson County

Caleb Cunningham, WR, Choctaw County

Brought in five passes for 220 yards and three touchdowns in a 51-14 win over Mooreville.

Kannon Cato, QB, Lawrence County

Rushed 11 times for 185 yards and five touchdowns, returned a kickoff 97 yards for a score and recorded five tackles and one pass breakup in a 74-68 win over Purvis.

Akylin Dear, RB, Quitman

Rushed 28 times for 350 yards and six touchdowns in the Panthers’ 54-35 win over Mendenhall.

Jaquel Dukes, WR, Wilkinson County

Caught 13 passes for 250 yards and three touchdowns in the Wildcats’ 30-27 win over West Lincoln.

Daniel Hill, RB, Meridian

Carried the ball 41 times for 348 yards and three touchdowns in the Wildcats’ 38-31 win over Northwest Rankin.

Demonte Martin, DB, South Pike

Recorded five tackles to go with three interceptions, including one pick-six in the Eagles’ 30-22 win over Jefferson County.

Tyson Robinson, RB, Brandon

Scored two touchdowns and finished with 167 yards of total offense in the Bulldogs’ 38-20 win over Oak Grove.

Nico Williams, QB, Gulfport

Completed all 10 of his pass attempts for 249 yards and three touchdowns in Gulfport’s 56-32 win over D’Iberville.
