Here are the candidates for SBLive’s Mississippi High School Athlete of the Week for Sept. 4-Sept.10 as nominated by fans, readers and SBLive’s staff. Read through the nominees and cast your vote at the bottom of the page. Voting will conclude on Sunday at 11:59 p.m and the winner will be announced the following Monday. Nate Blount, RB, Brandon

Rushed 23 times for 205 yards and three touchdowns in the Bulldogs’ 31-10 win over Clinton.

Kahnen Daniels, RB, West Point

Another week, another strong performance from the University of Florida commit. This week, he went for 427 yards and seven touchdowns on 37 carries in a 50-40 win over Noxubee County.

Tyler Henderson, WR, Vicksburg

Caught seven passes for 180 yards and four touchdowns in a 38-32 win over Natchez.

Marquez Jones, LB, Hazlehurst

The Indians’ senior was a one-man wrecking crew on defense, recording 12 tackles (four for a loss), two sacks, returning one of his two forced fumbles for a touchdown and blocking a punt for a safety in a 22-6 win over Lanier.

Dolph McDonald, DB, Morton

Had a career day in the Panthers’ 34-0 win over Leake Central, recording five tackles, including one for a loss, and picked off three passes, returning one of them for a touchdown.

Easton Sartin, RB/LB, Bogue Chitto

Was instrumental in the Bobcats’ 42-40 win over Enterprise-Lincoln, rushing for 144 yards and a touchdown on 17 carries on offense and recording eight tackles, two sacks and forcing a pair of fumbles on defense.

Raheem Vance, QB, Olive Branch

Set a school record by completing 28 of his 32 passes for 415 yards with two touchdowns in a 35-32 win over Horn Lake.

John White, QB, Madison-Ridgeland Academy

The Southern Miss commit ompleted 25 of his 32 passes for 292 yards and four touchdowns in a 42-14 win over St. Joseph (Madison).

Benny Williams, RB/DL, Bay High

Rushed for 227 yards and four touchdowns on 11 carries on offense and was credited with seven tackles, including two for a loss, forced two fumbles and returned one of them for a 27-yard touchdown in the Tigers’ 60-41 win over Long Beach.

Jekerious Williams, ATH, Grenada

Did a little bit of everything in the Chargers’ 31-28 upset win over Oxford, with punt return touchdowns of 73 and 84 yards and one interception on defense.
