Congratulations to Madison Central linebacker Ryan McCall for being voted SB Live Mississippi Athlete of the Week for the week of Aug. 21-27.
McCall had 22 tackles in the Jaguars’ 15-14 win over Ocean Springs in Week 1.
The senior received more than 7,200 votes from fans from across Mississippi, representing 48.87 percent of nearly 15,000 votes cast. He beat out Richton quarterback Dakota Amos (31.2 percent) and Union tailback Xavier Boler (14.4).

Landon Hawkins, Sumrall
Completed 12 of his 16 passes for 312 yards and three touchdowns in a 38-20 win over South Jones.
Coby King, Greene County
Completed 28 of his 45 passes for 390 yards and six touchdowns in a 41-40 loss to West Harrison.
Jeremiah Wilson, Lanier
Rushed for 275 yards on 26 carries with six touchdowns in a 52-32 win over Newton.
