Nevis defeats Kingsland in the MSHSL 9-player Prep Bowl

The Tigers defense held in the fourth quarter to take the win

The Nevis Tigers (11-0) defeated the Kingsland Knights (13-1) 14-12 in the Minnesota high school football 9-player championship on Saturday at U.S. Bank Stadium

Kingsland scored on its first play of the game. Kaaleem Reiland threw a touchdown to Ayden Howard for a 52-yard touchdown and a 6-0 lead.

Nevis scored two minutes later. Quarterback Eli Lewis ran up the middle for a 1-yard touchdown and a 7-6 lead.

In the second quarter, Nevis running back Ayomide Ogundeji ran left for a 32-yard touchdown run and a 14-6 lead.

Reiland scored in the third quarter after Reiland ran in a 5-yard touchdown, but the 2-point attempt failed, and Nevis held on to their 14-12 lead for the remainder of the game.
