Michigan State football loses commitment from 4-star lineman Andrew Dennis, has visited Purdue, Illinois

Dennis is the No. 5 interior offensive lineman in the class of 2024

Michigan State football four-star interior offensive lineman Andrew Dennis (Mt. Pleasant, Michigan) decommitted from the Spartans via Twitter on Monday.

In his statement, Dennis said he is still considering Michigan State. Dennis has recently visited Purdue and Illinois. He was also recently offered by Nebraska, Auburn and Georgia Tech.

Michigan State suspended and then fired former head coach Mel Tucker after a USA Today report revealed Tucker was under investigation for sexual harassments.

After Tucker was suspended, Dennis told SBLive

“Everyone is similar to me right now - committed, but worried," he said.

Dennis, the nation's No. 5 interior offensive lineman, said that process, while rewarding, can also be daunting.

“It takes a level of maturity," he said. "You have to be advanced for your age, and that’s not committing, that’s the recruiting aspect as a whole. It’s a blessing, but you have to be prepared for it. I’m blessed to have a great support system around me.”
