West Bloomfield football rolls undefeated Southfield A&T

The Lakers led in a game that was only close at the start

The No. 14 West Bloomfield Lakers (6-2) defeated the No. 3 Southfield A&T Warriors (7-1) 31-20 Friday at West Bloomfield High School.

Marquise Morris ran in a touchdown on a jet sweep to give the Lakers a 7-0 lead. Josh Tate ran in a touchdown to extend the lead to 14-0.

Later in the first half, Nigel Dunton ran in a short-yardage touchdown for a 21-0 Laker lead. Morris had another long run touchdown run for a 28-0 lead at halftime.

Southfield A&T got on the board with a touchdown pass from Isaiah Marshall to Tashi Braceful. The Warriors converted a 2-point try to cut the lead to 28-8.

West Bloomfield kicker Justin Ward hit a 38-yard field goal for a 31-8 lead.

Southfield A&T added two more touchdowns before the final whistle.
