Michigan high school football: 5 games you should not have missed (10/6/2023)

See five intriguing matchups for week seven

Week seven of Michigan high school football is here, so these are five games you should not have missed.

No. 24 Portage Northern (6-0) vs. Portage Central (5-1)

Crosstown rivals and two of the three top teams in the Southwestern Michigan Athletic Conference. Portage Central would love to end Portage Northerns' undefeated season.

No. 10 Zeeland West (6-0) vs. No. 21 Muskegon (4-2)

An OK-West battle that might be a toss-up. Zeeland West is gunning for a Division 3 title while Muskegon is shooting for Division 2. A win for either is a big resume boost.

No. 6 Lake Orion (6-0) vs. No. 12 Clarkston (4-2)

This might be the Dragons' toughest test yet. Clarkston has won four in a row, but the Wolves are 1-2 this season against Power 25 opponents.

Notre Dame Prep (5-0) vs. Gladwin (6-0)

Two undefeated teams, and Gladwin won this matchup a season ago. This is a matchup between two of the top teams in Division 5.

Freeland (6-0) vs. Frankenmuth (5-1)

Freeland is undefeated and No. 3 in SBLive's Division 4 Computer Rankings. Frankenmuth is No. 9 in the Division 5 rankings, but the Eagles have the capacity to knock off the Falcons.
