MIAA football championships set to return to Johnny Unitas Stadium

A and B Conference title games will be played on the campus of Towson University on November 19th

Earlier this week the MIAA and its events partner, Blackbyrd Events, announced that the 2023 MIAA Football Championships will be held on Sunday, November 19, 2023 at Johnny Unitas Stadium on the campus of Towson University.

The championship double-header will include the B Conference title game at 2:00 pm and the A Conference championship game at 5:00 p.m. This marks the first time since 2012 that Unitas Stadium has been the host venue for the MIAA football championships. In the years since it has been held several times at Archbishop Spalding, as well as Mount St. Joseph, Johns Hopkins' Homewood Field and, last year, at Navy-Marine Corps Stadium.

“Last year’s football double-header was a blast. The competition was impressive and the community support in the stands was tremendous,” said Mark Burdett, Owner and Principal, Blackbyrd. “We are excited to produce the MIAA Football Championships again this year as we bring our first-class athletes and enthusiastic crowd to Towson’s Johnny Unitas Stadium.”

“It is both a thrill and an honor for the MIAA to host our football championships at Johnny Unitas Stadium,” added MIAA Executive Director, Paul Bernstorf. “For our teams, schools and communities to experience a state of the art Division I venue is exciting, and adds to the importance of competing in a championship.”

Both championship games will be livestreamed on Blackbyrd Events YouTube, MIAAChampionships.com and ForTheFan Network.
