Here are the candidates for SBLive Sports Maryland High School Football Player of the Week for Sept. 7-9 as nominated by fans, readers and SBLive's staff. Read through our notes on each nominee and then cast your vote in out poll.

Voting will conclude on Sunday, September 17th and the winner will be announced in next week's poll. If you would like to nominate and athlete, please email the name and a brief description of his performance, with stats if available, to gary@scorebooklive.com.

Here are this week's nominations:

Tae Anderson, Frederick: The senior running back had 26 carries for 178 yards and a touchdown in the Cadets' 34-26 victory over Westminster.

Evan Austin, Oakdale: The senior quarterback, who’s committed to Charlotte University, threw five touchdowns in the Bears’ 41-24 win over Allegany.

Carson Bender, Fort Hill: The 5-foot-11, 170-pound freshman running back had 129 yards on 14 carries and a touchdown in the Sentinels’ 23-0 victory over Coolidge (D.C.).

David Davis, Northwest: The junior quarterback accounted for 184 yards and two touchdowns as Northwest defeated reigning Class 3A state champ Damascus, 47-14.

Newton Essiem, Frederick: The senior had a 96-yard kickoff return for a touchdown (third-longest kickoff return in program history) in Frederick’s victory over Westminster.

Christian Idoma, Northwest: The senior linebacker recorded 10 tackles (four solo) in the Jaguars’ victory over Damascus.

Brian Jamison, Meade: The senior quarterback completed 9 of 13 passes for 222 yards and four touchdowns in Meade’s 48-14 victory over Severn.

Tyrique Jones, Meade: Jones, a senior, had four catches for 169 yards and three touchdowns as the Mustangs routed Severn.

Zach Lafountain, Glenelg: The senior, who’s committed to Salisbury University for baseball, accounted for five touchdowns (three rushing and two passing) in Glenelg’s 48-o victory over Hammond.

Ian Mauldin, Broadneck: The junior running back finished with 132 yards as the Bruins defeated Arundel, 28-7, for their 15th straight regular season victory in Anne Arundel County play.

Zahire Mike, Meade: The senior carried 11 times for 142 yards and two touchdowns as Meade improved to 2-0 with a 48-14 victory over Severn.

Keyshawn Mister, Concordia Prep: The senior quarterback had two rushing scores, threw for another and caught a touchdown en route to 181 total yards in the Saints’ 46-0 rout of Old Mill.

Dominic Nichols, Oakdale: The Michigan commit had two quarterback sacks and knocked down two passes in the Bears’ triumph over Allegany.

Jamaal Pearl, Harford Tech: Pearl finished with 25 carries for 136 yards and a touchdown in the Cobras’ 27-25 victory over Elkton.

Hunter Thompson, Oakdale: The Ohio University commit caught eight passes for 174 yards and four touchdowns as Oakdale defeated Allegany.

Kyrece Walker, Westminster: The senior dual threat quarterback went 12-of-19 for 127 yards and two touchdowns and rushed for 91 yards in the Owls’ loss to Frederick.
