Editor’s note: Our corresponding poll is intended to be fun, and we do not set limits on how many times a fan can vote during the competition. This poll is specifically for fans to vote on the players that have been nominated and in no way discredits any other player that may not be mentioned in our poll.

Here are the finalists:

Carter Galley, Oceanside: The 5-foot-11 senior had his best overall season of his high school career on the hardwood. Galley led the Mariners to a 21-1 record and averaged a team-high 28.8 points, 6.5 rebounds, 2.8 steals and 2.4 assists per game. His best outing was the very first game of the year against Cony, scoring 51 points in a 110-59 victory.

Zach McLaughlin, Hampden Academy: The 6-foot-2 guard was the heart and soul for the Broncos all season long. Though McLaughlin was kept in check in Hampden Academy’s final game, the senior had plenty of great performances along the way. One of his best was recently in a 64-58 win over Skowhegan, with the guard pouring in 40 points.

Chance Mercier, Ellsworth: Starting off this list of finalists is the 6-foot-1 senior, whom really put together an overall great season for the Eagles. Mercier helped lead the club to a 16-4 record and was an all-around scorer, distributor of the basketball in the winter. The senior is averaging 27.1 points, 10.1 rebounds and 3.9 assists per game.
