HAMMOND, LOUISIANA - It's the sixth and final day of the LHSAA "Marsh Madness" girls basketball tournament.

First up will be the Division I select championship game. John Curtis Christian had its six-year title streak snapped in last season's final, and the Lady Patriots are eager for redemption. But Woodlawn-Baton Rouge comes in on a proverbial roll after knocking out No. 1 seed Huntington in Thursday's semifinals.

JOHN CURTIS 60, WOODLAWN-BATON ROUGE 46 (FINAL)

- Woodlawn's Amijah Price had a double-double of 19 points and 10 rebounds. Zyriah Williams added 11 points and hit three 3's.

- John Curtis' top scorer was Jayla Albert, an eighth-grader, who had 20 points and 9 rebounds. She was 7-of-12 from the field, 3-of-6 from 3-point range and 3-of-3 from the line. Albert had three steals as well. Also for the Lady Patriots, Imani Daniel had 17 points and 10 rebounds for a double-double, and she was 11-of-14 from the line.

- John Curtis led from start to finish to defeat Woodlawn-Baton Rouge for the Division I select championship. Lady Patriots have now won seven state titles over the past eight seasons (John Curtis, 60-46 | Final)

- Eighth-grader Jayla Albert with a huge 3 from the corner, and that just might do it for John Curtis (John Curtis, 54-43 | 1:10, 4th)

- Woodlawn was down by seven and had a chance to cut it to five or even four, but was unable to convert. John Curtis gets another answer basket and then the Lady Patriots' Imani Daniel makes a huge play, jumping high to deflect a ball off a Woodlawn player on an inbounds play under the basket (John Curtis, 49-40 | 3:10, 4th)

- Woodlawn with a pair of quick baskets, the latter a pull-up jumper from Zyriah Williams. It's a seven-point game (John Curtis, 47-40 | 4:20, 4th)
