Note: The power ratings and records are from Geaux Preps on Feb. 4.
1. Walker, 31-0 (previous rank: 1) - LHSAA Power Rating Division I non-select No. 1
The Lady Cats defeated Live Oak (77-14) and East Ascension (89-10). Kennedi Ard (5-9, Sr.) leads the team in scoring at 14.2 ppg. Ja'Miya Vann (5-7, Sr.) is at 13.7 ppg. Leah Eddards (5-8, Jr.) is at 11.5 ppg.
Senior forward Trinity Thomas has the highest shooting percentage, making 52% of her field goals. Eddards is shooting 50%, Ray'Onna Sterling is at 49%.
2. Lafayette Christian, 24-1 (previous rank: 2) - LHSAA Power Rating Division II select No. 1
The Lady Knights were idle as a game against winless David Thibodaux was canceled. Jada Richard and company face Jennings, Teurlings Catholic and Northside to finish the regular season.
3. Huntington, 22-2 (previous rank: 3) - LHSAA Power Rating Division I select No. 1
The Lady Raiders picked up wins over Northwood-Shreveport, Northwood-Lena, Booker T. Washington-Shreveport and Minden.
Huntington handed Northwood-Shreveport (19-11, 5-1) its first district loss despite early foul trouble, according to Preston Edwards of Prep Hoops Louisiana. Junior Carley Hamilton scored 19 points in the 72-42 win at Northwood-Lena.
The Lady Raiders close the regular season against Evangel Christian (1-9, 0-4) and Bossier (10-17, 1-4).
4. Parkway, 19-4 (previous rank: 5) - LHSAA Power Rating Division I non-select No. 5
The Lady Panthers defeated Airline and C.E. Byrd to improve to 12-0 in district and have won 11 straight games since a 50-48 loss at Huntington in December. Chloe Larry and her teammates conclude the regular season vs. Benton (18-13, 7-5) and Haughton (26-5, 10-2). Parkway beat Benton (56-27) and Haughton (56-33) in the first round of league play.
5. John Curtis Christian, 18-4 (previous rank: 6) - LHSAA Power Rating Division I select No. 2
The Lady Patriots defeated Southern Lab, 63-53. Chikae Desdunes' steal and lay-up gave her team an early 6-1 lead at Southern Lab. Her 3-pointer made it 11-3. Imani Daniel followed with a steal and an assist to Desdunes for a 3-pointer and a 14-3 lead. Janiyah Williams' 3 in the third quarter resulted in a 20-point cushion.
6. Wossman, 22-4 (previous rank: 7) - LHSAA Power Rating Division II non-select No. 1
The Lady Cats routed previously undefeated Bastrop on the road, 60-29. According to Jake Martin of The Ouachita Citizen, Wossman took a 40-15 halftime lead, which resulted in a running clock in the second half. Danaya Ross scored 23 points and Ramiah Augerson added 14. Wossman also blew out Union Parish, 63-14.
7. Southside, 25-3 (previous rank: 8) - LHSAA Power Rating Division I non-select No. 3
The Lady Sharks defeated Comeaux, Acadiana and Barbe to set up a District 3-5A showdown at Lafayette High (12-7, 6-0) on Feb. 6.
Eymani Key scored 17 points in the 42-36 win over Acadiana. Point guard Urijah Carmouche added eight points. Tamia Cahee's 13 points paced the 55-49 win vs. Barbe. Freshman Kay'Len Alexander added eight points.
Carmouche, a sophomore, set a new school single season record with 104 assists.
8. Denham Springs, 24-3 (previous rank: 10) - LHSAA Power Rating Division I non-select No. 2
The Lady Jackets defeated East Ascension and St. Amant to stay perfect in district leading up to a Feb. 9 home game against Walker. Earlier this month, Raegan Smith became the 15th player in school history to score 1,000 points. The next two games are against Dutchtown (9-12, 1-2) and at Archbishop Chapelle (20-6).
9. Mandeville, 24-5 (previous rank: 11) - LHSAA Power Rating Division I non-select No. 4
The Lady Skippers beat Salmen and Fontainebleau. Mandeville outscored Fontainebleau 27-1 in the third quarter and won, 66-26, according to Joseph Halm of nola.com. Hannah Benoit scored 20 points with five rebounds and five assists. Alanna Benoit scored 25 points and Saleigh Berry had 24 points in the 63-46 win over Salmen. Hannah Benoit added nine points with 11 rebounds, four assists and four steals.
10. Vandebilt Catholic, 16-6 (previous rank: 18) - LHSAA Power Rating Division II select No. 2
The Lady Terriers defeated Southern Lab, Dominican and Lutcher. The 48-43 win over Southern Lab was on the road in a notoriously tough environment replete with a live DJ. Makayla Charles told Louisiana vs. All Y'all after the game that poised ball handling against the Kittens' pressure defense was a factor. 6-foot sophomore combo guard Journee Johnson is a major reason the Lady Terriers have won eight straight games.
11. Southern Lab, 21-7 (previous rank: 4) - LHSAA Power Rating Division IV select No. 1
The Kittens beat Fairview, General Trass and Central Private and lost to Vandebilt Catholic and John Curtis Christian. Asia Patin scored 18 points with 10 steals, eight rebounds, four assists and a block in the 66-4 rout of General Trass.
Patin, a sophomore point guard, scored 21 points with 11 rebounds in the 48-43 loss to Vandebilt Catholic and had 17 points, seven rebounds and five steals in the 63-53 loss to John Curtis. Senior guard Kinsley James scored her 1,000th career point last month.
12. Rosepine, 25-5 (previous rank: 12) - LHSAA Power Rating Division III non-select No. 1
The Lady Eagles have won 16 straight games with their most recent victories coming against Holy Savior Menard and Pickering. Rosepine improved to 8-0 in District 4-2A with the 50-38 win at Menard. Oakdale (7-1 in 4-2A) travels to Rosepine on Feb. 9 in a rematch of last month's 75-71 overtime game won by the Lady Eagles.
13. Hicks, 30-3 (previous rank: NR) - LHSAA Power Rating Division V non-select No. 1
The Lady Pirates defeated district rival Anacoco twice in two days and beat Elizabeth. Hicks won at Anacoco, 47-44, on Feb. 1 and repeated the feat (59-40) on its home court on Feb. 2. No other details were available.
14. Fairview, 26-7 (previous rank: 14) - LHSAA Power Rating Division V non-select No. 2
The Lady Panthers lost to Southern Lab and defeated Northside Christian, Natchitoches Central and St. Joseph's-Plaucheville. Fairview topped the century mark in the win over Natchitoches Central, defeating the Class 5A Lady Chiefs, 104-80.
15. Amite, 23-5 (previous rank: 17) - LHSAA Power Rating Division III non-select No. 3
The Lady Warriors defeated Jewel Sumner twice and avenged a previous loss by defeating Albany, 60-53. Amite has won six straight games. Senior guard Hai'ley Brumfield is averaging 15.5 points, 6.7 rebounds, 6.2 assists and 2.8 steals per game.
16. South Beauregard, 22-7 (previous rank: 16) - LHSAA Power Rating Division II non-select No. 4
The Lady Knights defeated Kinder and Jennings and have won 11 straight games since consecutive losses to Walker, Amite and Anacoco.
17. Liberty Magnet, 20-4 (previous rank: NR) - LHSAA Power Rating Division I select No. 3
The Lady Patriots have won five straight games, highlighted by wins over French Settlement and Zachary. Keke Lavergne had a 3-pointer to help Liberty overcome an early 10-1 deficit in the 54-46 win over Zachary. Center Whitney Hart drove the length of the court following a steal and showed off her ball-handling with an around-the-back dribble.
18. Bastrop, 29-1 (previous rank: 9) - LHSAA Power Rating Division II non-select No. 2
The Lady Rams beat Franklin Parish and Sterlington and lost to Wossman. Alana Myles scored 27 points and Mariah Heard had 15 in the 62-56 overtime win at Sterlington. Heard, who scored 20 points in the 60-29 home loss to Wossman, leads the team with 14.7 ppg.
19. Oakdale, 23-6 (previous rank: 22) - LHSAA Power Rating Division IV non-select No. 1
The Lady Warriors defeated Pickering and Glenmora. In the 68-24 win over Pickering, Kaylee Bradley scored 26 points. Emani Young had 18 and Akeelah Hobson scored 16 points with 11 assists.
20. Carencro, 20-7 (previous rank: 20) - LHSAA Power Rating Division I select No. 6
The Lady Bears defeated Sulphur and are 5-1 in District 3-5A with road games coming up at Acadiana (17-12, 2-4) and Lafayette (12-7, 6-0).
21. Midland, 22-8 (previous rank: 25) - LHSAA Power Rating Division V non-select No. 4
The Lady Rebels extended their winning streak to five games by defeating J.S. Clark, 63-55. Gracie Miller's 3-pointer from way downtown gave Midland a 10-7 lead. Minutes later, Camri Primeaux nailed a long-distance 3 to extend the lead to four points.
Midland travels to J.S. Clark (19-5, 3-2) on Feb. 7, followed by playoff tune-ups vs. St. Thomas More and LaGrange.
22. Anacoco, 29-5 (previous rank: 13) - LHSAA Power Rating Division V non-select No. 3
The Lady Indians defeated Pitkin and lost twice to Hicks. Abbie Dowden and Izzabella Henry hit 3-pointers in the early going of the 64-49 win over Pitkin. Anacoco hosts Oak Hill on Feb. 9.
23. Oak Hill, 25-12 (previous rank: 23) - LHSAA Power Rating Division V select No. 1
The Lady Rams defeated Reeves and Pitkin. Five players are averaging more than nine points per game, led by Alexis Dyer's 17.1 ppg. Dyer scored 14 points in the 61-58 win over Pitkin.
24. Madison Prep, 20-10 (previous rank: NR) - LHSAA Power Rating Division II select No. 3
The Lady Chargers won their seventh straight game with a 56-47 district victory at Doyle.
25. Doyle, 25-4 (previous rank: 15) - LHSAA Power Rating Division III non-select No. 2
The Lady Tigers lost to Madison Prep. Doyle finishes the regular season with a district home game vs. University Lab (20-10).
