Hubert Caliste Jr., St. Augustine boys basketball
Caliste drained the game-winning three-pointer as time expired in the Purple Knights' 47-44 Catholic League win over Jesuit. Caliste scored all six of his points in the fourth quarter. His triple was only the second 3-pointer of the game.
St. Augustine is 18-4, 4-1 in district, and No. 7 in the Division I select power ratings. Caliste is a 6-foot-4, 235-pound football prospect who is ranked as a three-star prospect and the No. 33 player in Louisiana by ESPN.
Sean Brown/Jude Hardie, St. Michael's boys basketball
The duo each scored 16 points for the Warriors, who knocked off a previously undefeated Brusly squad, 55-41, in the District 6-4A opener. St. Michael's (13-10) is on a three-game winning streak and is No. 11 in the Division II select power ratings.
Saleigh Berry, Mandeville girls basketball
Berry, a senior, poured in 20 points in the Skippers' 65-39 win over Northshore. She came into the game needing 11 points to top the 1,000 career point threshold, according to Mike Perval of nola.com. Mandeville is 20-5, has won seven straight games, and is No. 4 in the Division I non-select power ratings.
Laurence Nathan, George Washington Carver boys basketball
The senior point guard scored 28 points to lead the Rams to a 75-70, double overtime win over defending Division I select state champion Catholic-Baton Rouge. Carver, a two-time defending state champion itself, is 15-5 and No. 5 in the Division II select power ratings. Nathan also scored 19 points with seven rebounds and four steals in a win over Warren Easton.
Alyssa Hillard, Ponchatoula girls basketball
Hillard was a thorn in Southern Lab's side in a 65-58 loss to the Kittens, scoring 26 points with eight rebounds, three steals and two assists. Ponchatoula is 15-9 on the year and No. 15 in the Division I non-select power ratings.
Dashawn Ceaser, Iowa boys basketball
Ceaser, who led his team with 21 points in a 58-50 win over previously unbeaten Lafayette Christian, didn't miss a shot from the floor after the first quarter. Iowa (19-3), which has won 11 straight games, moved up to No. 1 in the Division II non-select power ratings following the win.
Hannah Mouton, Northwood-Shreveport girls basketball
Mouton scored 19 points in her team's 67-39 loss to Lafayette Christian. Mouton was tenacious with her offensive production, fighting through a concerted defensive effort with pull-up jumpers and penetrating drives. Northwood is 15-10 and No. 16 in the Division I select power ratings.
Delian Mallery, St. Martinville boys basketball
The senior guard posted 21 points with five rebounds, three steals and two assists in a 64-49 District 5-3A win over Abbeville. The Tigers are a perfect 3-0 in league play heading into Tuesday's matchup at Crowley, which is also 3-0.
Ja'Vontre Charles, Beau Chene boys basketball
The 6-foot-2 guard led all scorers with 20 points as the Gators won their district opener in overtime vs. Cecilia. Charles scored 15 of his points in the first half and finished with four 3-pointers for Beau Chene (15-10, No. 9 in Division II non-select).
Bayleigh Matthews, Northside girls basketball
Matthews scored 15 points and was 8-for-8 from the free-throw line in a 43-40 loss to St. Thomas More. Northside's tough schedule has the Vikings (9-12) positioned to host a playoff game at No. 12 in the Division II select power ratings.
Tyronn Grider, Evangel Christian boys basketball
Grider registered a double-double in his team's 60-45 win over Ouachita Parish at Mal Mundy's Extravaganza held at Calvary Baptist. Grider, a 6-foot-4 forward, scored 20 points, grabbed 10 rebounds and distributed three assists for Evangel, which is 13-6 overall, has won four straight games, and is No. 12 in the Division II select power ratings.
Mixon Bankston, St. Mary's boys basketball
Bankston, who has been a varsity impact player for five years, scored his 1,000th career point for St. Mary's, which is 16-6 and No. 4 in the Division IV select power ratings. Bankston had 10 points with six assists in his team's 62-20 rout of Logansport.
Kennedi Ard, Walker girls basketball
Ard had 16 points, eight steals and four assists in Walker's 68-34 win over a Hicks team that lost only its second game of the season. Walker is undefeated at 27-0 and No. 1 in the Division I non-select power ratings.
Shaine Parker, Church Point girls basketball
Parker scored her 1,000th career point in a 68-34 win over Merryville. The 6-foot senior scored 14 points for Church Point, which is 18-6 and No. 7 in the Division II non-select power ratings.
Jaydon Francis, Northside boys basketball
The freshman scored a team-high 17 points in a 75-20 rout of Abbeville and 20 points in a 53-46 loss to St. Thomas More for the Vikings, who are in the mix to land a home playoff game at No. 15 in the Division II select power ratings.
Brynnan Boyd, St. Thomas More girls basketball
The junior guard led the Lady Cougars with 14 points in a 43-40 win over Northside in District 4-4A action. Boyd is an excellent outside shooter and scorer for STM (10-8), which is No. 9 in the Division I select power ratings.
D'Jaiyah Levy, Abbeville girls basketball
Levy exploded for 34 points in her team's 66-64 win over St. Martinville in a battle of District 5-3A unbeatens. Abbeville is 11-5 overall, 3-0 in league play, and No. 14 in the Division II non-select power ratings.
DaNaya Ross, Wossman girls basketball
Ross scored 25 points and made 7-of-10 3-point field goal attempts in the Lady Wildcats' 70-26 win over Carroll, according to Jake Martin of The Ouachita Citizen. Wossman is 18-4 overall, 2-0 in District 1-3A and No. 1 in the Division II non-select power ratings.
Joe Devall, St. Louis Catholic boys basketball
The Saints took a 61-40 win over Kinder in a District 3-3A opener. Devall had four 3-pointers, 14 points, three rebounds and three steals in the win for St. Louis (13-6), which has won six of its last seven games and is No. 13 in the Division II select power ratings.
Owen Guth, Lakeshore boys basketball
The 6-foot senior's 28 points paced the Titans to a 67-58 District 8-4A win over Salmen. Lakeshore is 14-8, 1-0 in 8-4A, and No. 13 in the Division II non-select power ratings.
Preston Sanders, Zwolle boys basketball
The junior powered the Hawks' 62-32 win over Converse in a District 3-B game by scoring 21 points. Zwolle, the defending Division V non-select state champions, is 24-3 and No. 2 in the power ratings.
TJ Callahan, Episcopal boys basketball
Callahan totaled 21 points and five assists, four steals and two rebounds in a 76-62 win over Family Chistian for the Knights, who have a 16-8 record, are on a six-game winning streak, and are No. 9 in the Division III select power ratings.
Phillip Wright III, Destrehan boys indoor track and field
Wright, a junior, won the 60-meter dash with a time of 6.90 seconds at the LSU Qualifier. Wright is a blue-chip football prospect for one of the state's premier programs. The receiver is ranked as the No. 13 player in Louisiana by On3.
David Bottner, Northlake Christian boys soccer
Bottner scored two second-half goals in his team's 4-0 win over Pope John Paul II, according to Joseph Halm of nola.com. The Wolverines are 8-3-3, No. 12 in the Division IV power ratings, and winners of six of their last seven games.
Zillia Biniam, Pope John Paul II girls soccer
The Lady Jaguars captured their fourth straight district title with a 2-1 win over Northlake Christian. Biniam provided the game-winning goal late in the second half for PJP II, which is 7-4-3 and No. 9 in the Division IV power ratings.
