Riverside Academy junior Dedric Lastie voted SBLive's Louisiana High School Athlete of the Week

Despite title-game loss, Lastie had a big night on offense

Dedric Lastie had a memorable performance in his team's state championship game. 

The only thing that would have been better was if his team had won it.

Lastie, a junior tailback for Riverside Academy, accumulated 227 all-purpose yards with 107 rushing yards and scored touchdowns on runs of 23, 11 and 42 yards in the Rebels' 42-35 loss to Southern Lab in the Division IV select championship game Dec. 7.

Lastie finished the season with 2,528 yards rushing and 41 touchdowns. 

For his efforts, Lastie was voted the SBLive Louisiana High School Athlete of the Week for Dec. 4-10.
