Once again, Destrehan stays atop this week's SBLive Louisiana Top 25 high school football rankings.

However, due to a shocking result last week, with Byrd winning at then No. 2-ranked Parkway, there's a brand new team right behind the Wildcats. And it's literally brand new, because the new No. 2 team wasn't even ranked last week.

Here are this week's Top 25 rankings.

Sources that were used to help formulate the SBLive Louisiana Top 25 include GeauxPreps.com and the polls put together by the Louisiana Sports Writers Association.

1. Destrehan (7-0)

The Wildcats have truly been a model of consistency all season. They have scored between 40-49 points in all seven of their games, the latest a 42-6 triumph last week at Terrebonne.

Destrehan hits the road again this week, playing at Sulphur on Friday.

2. Teurlings Catholic (7-0)

The Rebels passed two key road tests with flying colors.

Two weeks ago, they went to Westgate and handed the Tigers their first loss of the season, 30-22. Then last week, they went crosstown to face Lafayette Christian, and got a TD pass in the final moments to pull off a 21-17 win.

This Friday, the Rebels are back at home to take on St. Thomas More. Teurlings will be at home each of the final three weeks of the regular season.

3. De La Salle (7-0)

Taking on a team from Mississippi last week, the Cavaliers easily handled Jefferson Davis County, rolling to a 48-19 win.

Friday, De La Salle has a home game against Riverdale.

4. North De Soto (7-0)

Over the past couple of weeks, the Griffins traveled the few miles up north into Shreveport and came away victorious. A week after defeating Woodlawn, they downed Evangel Christian, 37-14.

North DeSoto returns home on Friday to face another Shreveport school, Huntington.

5. Church Point (7-0)

For the fifth straight week, the Bears broke the 50-point barrier, scoring exactly 50 points while holding Northwest to just eight.

Church Point returns to action Thursday with a home contest against Ville Platte.

6. Many (6-0)

In a matchup of Tigers last week, it was Many's Tigers who came out on top. Many used a 21-0 second-half run to pull away for a 42-14 win.

Many returns home for the first time since its epic win Sept. 23 against Newman as the Tigers take on Jonesboro-Hodge.

7. Carroll (6-0)

Unlike Week 6, when the Bulldogs needed triple overtime to get past Wossman, they had a relatively easy time of things last week, getting a 49-7 home win against North Webster.

Carroll travels to face Franklin Parish on Friday.

8. Vermilion Catholic (7-0)

After seeing a three-game shutout streak end in Week 6 after giving up a touchdown, the Eagles were able to pitch another shutout, blanking Jeanerette, 53-0.

It was the fifth shutout on the season for the Eagles, who go to Centerville this week.

9. Glenbrook (7-0)

Glenbrook scored a total of 115 points over the past two weeks, both road games, including a 48-15 triumph at Ringgold in Week 7.

This week, Glenbrook travels to Plain Dealing before coming home for its final two regular-season contests.

10. Newman (5-1)

The Greenies had last week off following their come-from-behind win at Belle Chasse in Week 6.

They're back in action on Friday with a home contest against Metairie Park Country Day.

11. Iowa (6-1)

The Yellow Jackets recorded their second shutout over their last three games, and third shutout overall, by downing Westlake, 27-0, in Week 7.

Iowa will be home this week against Lake Charles College Prep. It will be the last regular-season Friday game for the Yellow Jackets, who play on back-to-back Thursdays over the next two weeks.

12. Bogalusa (6-1)

Last week, Bogalusa held a 46-27 lead on Jewel Sumner before the game was called due to a shooting incident outside of the stadium, which took the life of a 15-year-old. Bogalusa was awarded the win.

The Lumberjacks are scheduled to play again on Oct. 28, a game at Pine.

13. Opelousas (6-1)

Opelousas traveled to Livonia in Week 7 and left as winners, 41-13.

The Tigers are back home this week to take on Cecilia.

14. Zachary (5-1)

Since giving up a big halftime lead in an eventual loss to St. Augustine, the Broncos have reeled off three straight wins. Last week, they outlasted Scotlandville, 53-38.

The Broncos take a trip to Baton Rouge on Friday to face Central.

15. Ruston (6-1)

Last week, the Bearcats registered their first shutout of the season, rolling 62-0 at Pineville.

Ruston returns home on Friday to face West Ouachita.

16. West Monroe (5-1)

West Monroe picked up its second straight shutout win last week, prevailing at West Ouachita, 43-0.

Friday, the Rebels are back home as they welcome in Ouachita Parish.

17. Warren Easton (6-1)

The Eagles are coming off a 56-0 win against crosstown foe Frederick Douglass. It was the first shutout on the field for Easton, which received a 2-0 forfeit against Edna Karr after the Cougars forfeited their first three wins on the season.

Thursday, Easton is at home to take on Madison Prep.

18. Catholic-Baton Rouge (6-1)

The Bears took care of business last week against crosstown rival Central, prevailing 38-17.

On Friday, the Bears will travel to take on another crosstown opponent, Woodlawn.

19. Neville (5-2)

For the second straight week, the Tigers put up at least 50 points and held their foe scoreless. They did it again in Week 7 with a 55-0 decision against Grant.

Friday, Neville goes for its third straight shutout bid as the Tigers travel to Tioga.

20. Abbeville (5-2)

The Wildcats rebounded from their loss to St. Charles in Week 6 with a resounding 49-20 home win against Crowley.

Abbeville will play at Erath on Friday.

21. Avoyelles (5-2)

Avoyelles picked up its first shutout win on the season last week, as the Mustangs downed Menard, 58-0.

The Mustangs return to the field on Thursday with a game at Southern Lab.

22. Homer (5-2)

The Pelicans were stymied last week by Arkansas small-school power Prescott, falling 9-0.

Homer wraps up its regular-season home schedule on Friday by taking on Arcadia.

23. Brother Martin (5-2)

Martin has endured two straight low-scoring games, but both times the Crusaders have come away victorious. After a 7-3 win against Jesuit, Martin was a touchdown better than Holy Cross, 14-7, in Week 7.

The Crusaders are at home on Friday to take on Rummel.

24. University High (4-3)

Prior to Week 7, the Cubs won three straight games, giving up only six points. But last week, they allowed 40 in an eventual 40-37 loss to Madison Prep.

U-High looks to rebound this week, a road game at Glen Oaks.

25. Oak Grove (4-3)

The Tigers are in this week's rankings after breaking a two-game losing streak with a convincing 57-22 win against Ferriday.

Oak Grove plays again on Friday, a home tilt with Madison.
