Here are the candidates for the Kentucky high school Athlete of the Week for Oct. 10-16 as nominated by coaches, fans and readers.

Cutter Boley, Lexington Christian Academy football
Boley threw for 507 yards on 36 of 57 attempts during Lexington Christian’s 43-0 win over Somerset. Boley threw a pair of touchdowns and also rushed for a score. Boley’s 2,531 passing yards on the season leads the state, regardless of classification.
Shaun Boykins, North Hardin football
The junior was all over the field in North Hardin’s 35-7 win over Barren County. Boykins caught seven passes for 165 yards and two touchdowns. He also added three carries for eight yards and another score. And on defense, he grabbed an interception.
Jacob Childress, Henry Clay football
Henry Clay dropped a heartbreaker to Paul Laurence Dunbar on Friday, but it wasn’t Childress’ fault. The senior carried the ball a whopping 40 times for 222 yards and two touchdowns.
Tristan Compton, Boyle County boys soccer
Compton scored two goals in the Rebels’ 5-1 win over Danville in the Region 12 championship on Saturday, earning them a berth into the state tournament. That came five days after he netted three goals in a win over Pulaski County.
Kinley Cummings, Franklin-Simpson volleyball
Cummings had four of the team’s six kills in a loss to Allen County-Scottsville on Tuesday, then logged a kill, an assist and two digs in a win over Warren Central. She also had three service aces across the two matches.
Sage Dawson, Boyle County football
The junior quarterback completed 22 of 29 passes for 346 yards and five touchdowns in Boyle County’s 36-0 win over Anderson County on Friday. Boyle County struggled to get its ground game going, rushing for just 53 yards, but thanks to Dawson, it didn’t matter.
Taylor Dunn, Henderson County girls soccer
Dunn had a week to remember during the Region 2 championship, scoring six goals and dishing four assists across Henderson County’s three wins.
Ashlynn Elliott, East Carter girls soccer
Across the Lady Raiders’ two wins in the Region 16 championship, Elliott totaled five goals and two assists. She scored a hat trick in East Carter’s 5-2 win over Russell to earn a spot in the state tournament.
Blake Foster, Lexington Catholic football
Foster rushed nine times for 106 yards and three touchdowns — one of two Knight players to rush for three scores during the team’s 49-0 win over Bourbon County. But his performance on defense might have been more impressive. Foster tied for the team lead with seven tackles and also had a sack.
Brady Hensley, Madison Central football
Hensley carried the ball 32 times for 180 yards and two touchdowns in Madison Central’ 27-14 win over George Rogers Clark. He also added two catches for 34 yards and another score. In all, the junior accounted for nearly 60 percent of the team’s total offense.
Diego Honderkamp, Ryle boys soccer
Across three games in the Region 9 championship, Honderkamp scored five goals and dished a pair of assists. That included a goal and an assist in the championship game, a 2-0 win over Covington Catholic. Honderkamp was named the Region tournament MVP as a result.
Adelyn Inman, Elizabethtown girls soccer
Inman scored all three of the Panthers’ goals in a 3-0 win over Bardstown to take the Region 5 title. Earlier in the week, she had a goal and an assist in a 10-0 victory over Taylor County.
Amelia Jones, Manual girls soccer
Manual’s season ended with a loss to Assumption in the Region 7 final, but Jones helped get the Crimsons there by scoring two goals in the team’s 3-0 semifinal victory over Christian Academy.
Marley Kahle, South Oldham girls soccer
In three matches during the Region 8 tournament, Kahle totaled four goals and four assists. She scored twice and had an assist during a 4-0 championship win over Simon Kenton.
Mia Long, Barren County volleyball
Long was an assist machine, logging 64 total assists across three matches last week. Barren County won two of the three.
Lajuan McAdoo, Madisonville-North Hopkins football
McAdoo turned 26 carries into 285 yards and four touchdowns during the Maroons’ 41-20 win over Hopkins County Central on Friday. To top it off, the senior also returned a fumble for a touchdown on the defensive side of the ball.
Ava Meyer, Highlands girls soccer
Meyer had a goal and an assist in the Bluebirds’ thrilling 3-2 victory over Notre Dame in penalty kicks to win the Region 9 title and advance to the state tournament. That came three days after she assisted the game-winning goal in overtime to beat Dixie Heights in the semifinals.
Miles McMillen, St. Xavier boys soccer
McMillen scored the game-winning goal in St. X’s 2-1 win over rival Trinity in the Region 7 championship on Thursday. The senior also netted a brace in the Tigers’ win over Ballard in the semifinals.
Charlie Noon, Highlands football
Noon helped lead Highlands to its first win over Covington Catholic in its last 10 tries by doing a little bit of everything. Noon carried the ball seven times for 25 yards, he caught four passes for 68 yards and a touchdown, and he had a couple huge kickoff returns, including one that went for a touchdown and gave the Bluebirds the lead for good in the fourth quarter. He finished the game with 260 all-purpose yards.
Maverick Peyton, Madisonville-North Hopkins boys soccer
Across the Maroons’ three games last week, Peyton racked up four goals and an assist, helping lead the team to a Region 2 championship and state tournament berth.
Sara Ritter, Whitefield Academy girls soccer
Ritter had a goal and an assist in Whitefield’s 2-1 win over Mercy Academy in the Region 6 title game. The win gave the Wildcats their first state tournament berth in school history. Ritter, who ranks second in the state with 66 goals on the season, scored four times in Whitefield’s first-round match against Bullitt Central and three more times in a semifinal victory over Holy Cross.
Kamri Smith, Great Crossing girls soccer
Kamri ended her career as 4 year starter and a co-captain this season. She lead this young team to semi finals of regional tournament by playing to the last second with never give up attitude.
Zah’Ron Washburn, Manual football
Washburn carried the Crimsons past Pleasure Ridge Park, racking up 236 yards and all four of the team’s touchdowns on 20 carries. On a night when Manual quarterback Tyree Stoner only completed two passes (both to Washburn) for five yards and threw five interceptions, Washburn put the offense on his shoulders.
Eli White, Cooper football
White led Cooper in both rushing and receiving during its 54-0 win over Boone County. The senior rushed nine times for 63 yards and two touchdowns and caught five passes for 147 yards and another score.
Jordan Wright, Henderson County football
Henderson County exploded for 73 points in a win over Daviess County on Friday, and Wright was a big reason why. The senior rushed 18 times for 160 yards and two touchdowns and also caught three passes for 84 yards and another two scores.
Yaredi Yaredi, Bowling Green boys soccer
Between the Region 4 semifinal and championship games on Wednesday and Thursday, Yaredi netted a total of five goals. He had a hat trick in the Purples’ 4-1 win over Greenwood in the Region championship game.
