Iowa high school boys basketball state tournament quarterfinal recap: Hudson comes back to beat Grundy Center (3/5/2024)
DES MOINES, IOWA - Two intentional fouls on fast breaks helped fuel a comeback from Hudson, who trailed by six at halftime, in its 55-51 win over conference foe Grundy Center in Tuesday morning in a Class 2A quarterfinal game at Wells Fargo Arena.
For the second time in the half Hudson star Camden Davis was fouled. hard while flying to the basket on a fast break. With 25 seconds to play and the score tied at 49, he was wrapped up and an intentional foul called.

Davis, who entered the game shooting over 80 percent from the foul line but missed three on the day, cooly hit the pair of shots. The No.2-seeded Pirates kept the ball and the Spartans were forced to foul with time running out. Davis agains made two free throws to put the game out of reach.
Earlier in the fourth quarter, Grundy Center was up six when they intentionally fouled Davis. He only made one of the free throws, but Hudson scored on the extra possession and moments later only trailed by two points.
Tanner Michael led Hudson with 21 points. Davis added 16 points and 12 rebounds. Jalen Kirkpatrick led Grundy Center with 18 points and 9 rebounds.
