The top 13 spots in our all-class Top 25 remain the same as postseason play started for the small schools. Classes 3A and 4A begin this week. A couple of Class 3A teams — Waverly-Shell Rock and Marion — lost and fell out of the rankings, allowing a couple of western Iowa schools to move in. 

1. Cedar Rapids Kennedy (20-0) 

The Cougars may not be the most talented team in the state, but nobody has better chemistry and plays better together. They finished the regular season unbeaten with a blowout victory over a solid Cedar Rapids Xavier team. Kennedy received a first-round bye and then opens Class 4A tournament play against the winner of the Davenport North vs. Davenport West game.

2. Waukee (20-2)

The Warriors ride into the tournament on a 10-game winning streak, including a 77-62 win over Des Moines Lincoln in the season finale. They receive a first-round bye and then face either Des Moines East or Urbandale in 4A district play Friday.

3. Waukee Northwest (19-2)

The Wolves hammered Des Moines East 88-30 to finish the regular season on a six-game win streak. They’ll face the winner of Des Moines Lincoln vs. Marshalltown on Friday.

4. West Des Moines Valley (16-5)

The Tigers wrapped up the regular season with a 60-59 win over Des Moines Roosevelt and will face either Waterloo East or Iowa City High on Friday in Class 4A postseason action.

5. Indianola (19-2)

The Indians’ only two losses of the season were to No. 2 Waukee and No. 8 Norwalk, but they are now healthy as Drew Kingery is back from an ankle injury. They play host to either Iowa City Liberty or Linn-Mar on Friday in 4A district action.

6. Bondurant-Farrar (20-0)

The Bluejays completed a perfect regular season with a 60-50 win over Newton. They open Class 3A postseason play hosting Carlisle tonight. Assuming a victory, B-F would then play the winner of Clarke vs. Creston on Thursday.

7. Dubuque Senior (18-3)

Winners of six straight, the Rams finished the regular season with wins over Waterloo West by eight and Iowa City West by 30. They entertain either Muscatine or Davenport Central on Friday to open Class 4A play.

8. Norwalk (18-3)

The Warriors, who have ripped off 14 straight wins, claimed victories over ADM (Adel) and West Des Moines Dowling Catholic last week. Norwalk entertains either Sioux City North or West on Friday night in 4A district play.

9. Grand View Christian (22-0)

The Thunder, who are 5-0 vs. Class 4A teams, 4-0 vs. 3A and 6-0 vs. 2A, opened 1A tournament play with an 86-38 blowout win over Earlham. They take on Lenox in Creston on Tuesday.

10. Sioux City East (20-2)

The Black Raiders finished the regular season with an 89-37 beatdown of Storm Lake. They will entertain either Council Bluffs Jefferson or Johnston on Friday in 4A tournament action.

11. North Linn (22-0)

The unbeaten Lynx cruised to victories over Edgewood-Colesburg (103-24) and South Winneshiek (97-64) to open Class 1A postseason play. With an average margin of victory is 49.1, the Lynx face Maquoketa Valley at Independence on Tuesday in a 1A semifinal.

12. Cedar Falls (15-5)

The Tigers head into the postseason winners of 12 of 14 after posting wins over Dubuque Hempstead and Cedar Rapids Washington last week. They take on the winner of Fort Dodge vs. Dowling on Friday in 4A postseason action.

13. Pleasant Valley (16-5)

The Spartans are riding a six-game win streak into postseason play as they beat Muscatine 65-40 in the regular season finale. They entertain Dubuque Hempstead Monday in a Class 4A posteason tilt and will the play at rival Bettendorf on Friday if they win.

14. Central Lyon (19-1)

The Lions move up three spots after opening Class 2A postseason play with an easy 85-61 victory over Boyden-Hull. They play West Sioux at MOC Floyd Valley on Tuesday.

15. MOC Floyd Valley (19-2)

The 3A Dutchmen, who were idle last week, move up three spots. After finishing the regular season with eight straight victories, they open 3A tournament action tonight vs. Storm Lake.

16. Roland Story (22-1)

Winners of 12 straight, the Norsemen beat Prairie City-Monroe by 21 to open Class 2A District play and now face South Hardin at Gilbert in a semifinal Tuesday. They move up three positions.

17. Clear Lake (20-1)

Up four spots, the Lions head into the 3A tournament riding a 12-game win streak. They face Hampton-Dumont tonight.

18. Ames (15-7)

The Little Cyclones are down four spots after losing to Southeast Polk in the regular season finale. They face the winner of Ottumwa vs. Ankeny on Friday.

19. Ankeny Centennial (14-7)

The Jaguars drop three spots after losing to Johnston in the regular season finale. They will entertain either Cedar Rapids Prairie or Iowa City West on Friday in 4A tournament play.

20. Cedar Rapids Xavier Catholic (15-6)

The Saints fall four positions after being blown out by by 27 to No. 1 Kennedy. They did bounce back with a 12-point victory over Western Dubuque in the season finale. They open 3A tournament play tonight vs. Clear Creek Amana.

21. North Scott (16-5)

The Lancers split, losing to Davenport West by seven before beating Davenport North by eight in the regular season finale. After receiving first-round bye, they open 4A tournament play Friday playing host to either Burlington or Clinton. They drop one position.

22. Newton (14-6)

The Cardinals hold steady after losing their only game last week, falling to 3A No. 1 Bondurant-Farrar, which is sixth in our all-class rankings, by 10. They open postseason play tonight vs. Oskaloosa.

23. Council Bluffs Abe Lincoln (15-6)

The Lynx are back in the rankings after winning nine of 11 to finish the regular season. They play host to the winner of Des Moines North vs. Dallas Center-Grimes on Friday.

24. Aplington-Parkersburg (20-2)

The Falcons opened Class 2A district play with a 69-59 victory over West Branch. They face a decent Jesup squad Tuesday in a semifinal tilt.

25. Sioux Central (22-0)

The unbeaten Rebels, who won all 21 of their regular season games, debut. They opened Class 2A district play with a 50-31 win over East Sac County. They face South Central Calhoun in a semifinal matchup Tuesday at Storm Lake.
