Here are the candidates for SBLive's Indiana High School Athlete of the Week as nominated by fans, readers and SBLive’s staff.

The senior ran 24 times for 100 yards and two TDs in a 24-12 Class 5A semistate loss to Decatur Central.

Halbert Aguirre, Decatur Central football

In a 24-12 Class 5A semistate victory over Bloomington South, the senior scored on a 3-yard run and made several key tackles.

Niya Bell, Fort Wayne Northrop girls basketball

The Heidelberg recruit had 27 points and seven rebounds in a 70-43 win over Fort Wayne Carroll.

Uriah Buchanan, Fort Wayne Snider football

The senior rushed 21 times for 96 yards and three touchdowns in a 28-0 Class 5A semistate shutout of Merrillville.

Tyler Cherry, Center Grove football

The Duke commit led a comeback attempt from an 18-point deficit and finished with 405 yards passing and four TDs in a 37-34 overtime loss to Ben Davis in a Class 6A semistate.

Mickey Daring, Bishop Luers football

The senior finished with 60 yards and two touchdowns on the ground and added seven tackles (two for losses), a sack and a forced fumble in a 28-7 Class 2A semistate win over Lafayette Central Catholic.

Laniah Davis, Marquette girls basketball

The sophomore scored 48 points as the Blazers beat Kankakee Valley, Gary West Side and Michigan City.

Kylar Decker, Leo football

The senior completed 24 of 37 passes for 335 yards and four touchdowns in a 45-33 loss to NorthWood in a Class 4A semistate.

Dominic De Freitas, NorthWood football

The junior booted a program-record 55-yard field goal in a 45-33 Class 4A semistate win over Leo.

Noah Ehrlich, Crown Point football

The junior quarterback set program single-season records for completions (150), passing yards (2,236) and TD passes (27) during a 38-31 overtime win over Westfield in a Class 6A semistate. He threw for 175 yards and three scores on the night.

Larry Ellison, Crown Point football

The junior ran 37 times for 165 yards in a 38-31 Class 6A semistate win against Westfield in overtime.

Jayden Flagg, New Prairie girls basketball

The senior scored 47 points in a 3-0 week for the Cougars, who beat Elkhart, South Bend Adams and LaPorte.

Jed Galvin, North Posey football

The junior scored four touchdowns in a 37-7 Class 2A semistate win over Southmont, boosting his season total to 29 TDs.

Trevor Gibbs, Crown Point football

The sophomore finished with six catches for 72 yards and two first-half touchdowns during a 38-31 overtime win against Westfield in a Class 6A semistate.

Jett Goldsberry, Heritage Hills football

In a 23-20 Class 3A semistate victory over Gibson Southern, the sophomore threw for one touchdown and ran for another.

Thomas Gotkowski, Ben Davis football

The Miami (Ohio) commit passed for 211 yards and three touchdowns and ran for another score in a 37-34 overtime victory against Ben Davis in a Class 6A semistate.

Eliana Grubbs, Bremen girls basketball

The sophomore had 37 points, 17 rebounds and eight assists in wins against Knox and South Bend Riley.

Braydon Hall, Indianapolis Lutheran football

The senior rushed for six touchdowns in a 56-14 Class 1A semistate victory against Sheridan.

Dylan Maxwell, East Central football

During a 49-0 Class 4A semistate shutout of New Palestine, the senior rushed 14 times for 251 yards and two touchdowns. He also had seven tackles.

Monique Mitchell, South Bend Washington girls basketball

The junior had 50 points in victories over South Bend Riley and Penn.

Avah Montgomery, Southridge girls basketball

The junior scored 26 points in a 45-41 win over Evansville Mater Dei.

Owen Roeder, NorthWood football

The senior had two passing touchdowns and two rushing TDs in a 45-33 Class 4A semistate win over Leo.

Daniel Shaw, Bishop Chatard football

The junior had touchdown runs of 5, 17 and 33 yards in a 42-14 win against Knox in a Class 3A semistate.

Zane Skibinski, Ben Davis football

The senior caught four passes for 134 yards and three TDs in a 37-34 overtime win against three-time defending Class 6A champ Center Grove in a Class 6A semistate.

Nate Williams, Ben Davis football

The senior caught the game-winning 10-yard touchdown pass on the last play of the game for a 37-34 overtime win over Center Grove in Class 6A semistate action.
