Eric Balcom, Hamilton Heights football

The senior rushed for 156 yards and three first-half touchdowns in a 51-6 victory against South Bend Washington.

Sawyer Beachy, Bethany Christian boys soccer

The sophomore had four total goals as the Bruins beat LaVille 9-0 in the semifinals and defeated South Bend Trinity 3-1 in the title match of the Class 1A Bethany Christian Sectional.

Tyler Cherry, Center Grove football

The Duke commit threw for 198 yards and four touchdown passes in a 43-26 win over Lawrence North.

Hogan Denny, Mooresville football

In a 38-35 loss to Martinsville, the senior threw for 247 yards and a touchdown, and rushed for 117 yards and four scores.

Dallas Freeman, Greenfield-Central football

In a 28-9 win over Delta, the junior threw for 136 yards and two touchdowns. He also was the Cougars' leading rusher with 74 yards on 12 carries.

Jackson Gilbert, Westfield football

The senior completed seven of 13 passes for 200 yards and two touchdowns in a 28-14 win against Fishers.

Maddie Graber, Southridge girls cross country

Graber won the Pocket Athletic Conference title by 49 seconds, running 18:53.

Anika Guenther, Penn girls soccer

The junior had six goals as Penn won its own Class 3A sectional.

Cordelia Hoover, Evansville Reitz girls cross country

The senior won the Southern Indiana Athletic Conference title in 19:13.5.

Matt Koontz, Hanover Central football

The senior passed for 224 yards and two touchdowns, and also added three rushing TDs in a 33-9 win against Andrean.

Alex Leugers, Franklin football

In a 35-21 victory over Greenwood, the junior running back had 228 rushing yards and a career-best four touchdowns on 21 carries.

Jack Linden, Guerin Catholic football

The sophomore rushed 16 times for 110 yards and two touchdowns in a 42-0 shutout of Terre Haute North.

Eric Montgomery, Scecina football

In a 41-28 win over Indianapolis Ritter, the sophomore ran 32 times for 186 yards and two touchdowns.

Jackson Nolan, Evansville Reitz boys cross country

The junior won the Southern Indiana Athletic Conference title at 15:48.6.

Danny O’Neil, Cathedral football

The Colorado commit rushed for 84 yards and three touchdowns, and also tossed a touchdown pass in a 42-0 shutout of Indianapolis Roncalli.

Quinn Pankiewicz, Mishawaka Marian girls soccer

The junior had seven goals over three games as Marian won its own Class 2A sectional.

Joshua Placzek, Carmel football

The senior remained perfect on the season on extra points and field goals as he converted on both of his point-after kicks and drilled a late 37-yard field goal in a 17-14 win over Warren Central.

Dresden Roberts, Pendleton Heights football

The senior rushed 12 times for 112 yards and two touchdowns during a 31-7 win over Yorktown..

Tristan Robertson, Floyd Central football

In a 56-14 victory over Jennings County, the senior completed 12 of 15 passes for 182 yards and three touchdowns.

Garrett Sherrell, Brownsburg football

The senior ran 26 times for 185 yards and two touchdowns, and added two catches for 94 yards and another TD in a 27-22 win over Noblesville.

Brayden Shrake, Martinsville football

The senior ran 33 times for 205 yards and scored the Artesians' lone fourth-quarter touchdown in a 38-35 win against Mooresville.

Alex Spindler, Gibson Southern boys cross country

Spindler won the Pocket Athletic Conference title at 16:30.

Owen Tolle, Tri-Central football

The sophomore ran for 249 yards and a TD, kicked a PAT and converted three field goals in a 16-7 win over Taylor.

Slate Valentine, Whiteland football

In a 22-8 victory over Plainfield, the junior rushed 27 times for 201 yards and a fourth-quarter touchdown.

Roland Vera Jr., Evansville Reitz football

The senior ran 14 times for 224 yards and five touchdowns during a 52-20 win against Evansville Bosse.

Malachi Walden, Tri-West football

In a 41-0 shutout of Crawfordsville, the junior was 11-of-13 passing for 87 yards and a touchdown. He also added 62 yards and a score on the ground.

Lucas Waldon, Bloomington South football

The senior caught seven passes for 104 yards and a game-high three touchdowns in a 51-26 win against Indianapolis Brebeuf.

Quentin Yeakel, Northwestern boys soccer

Yeakel scored twice in a 2-1 win over Western in the Class 2A Oak Hill Sectional final.

Matthew Yoder, Center Grove football

The senior ran for 143 yards on 30 carries and scored two touchdowns in the fourth quarter of a 43-26 win against Lawrence North.

Jasper Xiang, West Lafayette boys tennis

Xiang defeated Kokomo's Caleb Taflinger 6-2, 7-5 to win the Kokomo Individual Sectional and earn a berth in the individual regional.

Bloomington South's Jarrin Alley voted SBLive's Indiana High School Athlete of the Week (Sept. 25-Oct. 1) 

Congratulations to Bloomington South football player Jarrin Alley, who was voted the SBLive Indiana high school Athlete of the Week for Sept. 25-Oct. 1. He received more than 45 percent of the votes.

In a 49-14 victory over Columbus North, Alley, a senior, completed 19 of 23 passes for 330 yards and five touchdowns.

East Central football player Josh Ringer finished second in the voting after receiving more than 33 percent of the votes.
