Thornton's Meyoh Swansey voted SBLive’s Illinois High School Athlete of the Week (1/15/2024)

Swansey received more than 71 percent of the total votes

Congratulations to Thornton boys basketball player Meyoh Swansey, who was voted SBLive's Illinois High School Athlete of the Week for January 1-7.

Swansey received more than 71 percent of the total votes for the week.

A senior guard, Swansey had 18 points and eight rebounds in a 63-62 victory against Metamora. He also contributed 18 points, five rebounds, three assists and three steals in a 62-48 win over Richmond Heights (Ohio).

Mundelein girls basketball player Rylan Foster finished second in the voting after receiving more than 25 percent of the votes.
