Report: 5-star defensive tackle Justin Scott flips from Ohio State to Miami

Chicago senior defensive lineman flips from Buckeyes to Hurricanes

Chicago St. Ignatius defensive tackle Justin Scott, ranked as the No. 7 overall prospect in the Class of 2024 by 247Sports, has flipped his commitment from Ohio State to the University of Miami.

The 6-foot-4, 310-pounder committed to the Buckeyes on July 2 after taking visits to Georgia, Michigan, Miami and Ohio State.

On Wednesday, the news broke that the big fella was headed South instead.

Scott, the top-rated prospect in Illinois, is rated as the third-best defensive lineman in the Class of 2024. He becomes the top prospect committed to the Hurricanes and the lone five-star prospect who has pledged to Miami in this recruiting cycle.

Scott will join fellow Chicago area senior defensive lineman Marquis Lightfoot, a four-star edge rusher, in heading to the Hurricanes. Lightfoot, from Kenwood Academy, committed to Miami back in early July.
