Dierre Hill Jr., 2025 4-star running back, shines in Week 4 loss, plans college visits

Hill accounts for 223 total yards, two TDs in Week 4 loss

BELLEVILLE, ILLINOIS – Dierre Hill Jr. transferred schools, and switched states, before his junior year but the versatile speedy junior running back is still showing out on the football field.

Now at Althoff Catholic (Belleville, Ill.) after two years at Vashon (St. Louis, Mo.), Hill has solidified his status as one of the top Class of 2025 prospects in the Midwest.

“It’s honestly been great,” Hill said Friday night. “I know we had a tough loss tonight, but them guys, they brought me in. It was genuine. The whole school – the teachers, the coaching staff, everybody in the building – it’s just been amazing. It’s a great move for me.”

Althoff (3-1) suffered its first loss of the season on Friday against visiting St. Dominic (Mo.) 34-19 after jumping out to an early 13-0 advantage.

Hill, a 6-foot, 183-pounder, had a big night – running, receiving, passing and on defense – despite the visitors keying on him defensively throughout.

He ran for 162 yards and a touchdown on 18 carries, caught four passes for 45 yards, threw a 16-yard touchdown pass after Althoff’s starting quarterback left the game momentarily, and recorded eight tackles.

Through the first four weeks of the season, Hill has accounted for 750 total yards and 14 touchdowns. He has rushed for 641 yards and 10 scores on 54 carries (11.9 yards per), caught five passes for 93 yards and a touchdown, has two return touchdowns and one passing touchdown.

Rated by 247Sports as the No. 60 overall prospect in the Class of 2025, and the eighth-best wide receiver, Hill is attracting plenty of attention from college coaches.

While some recruiting websites, like 247Sports, are now listing him as a wide receiver rather than a running back, Hill said he’s being recruited as a running back, wide receiver or safety, but mostly running back.

Hill said Louisville, Missouri, Michigan, Illinois and Kansas are recruiting him the hardest and he planned to visit Illinois on Saturday – with 4-star defensive line teammate Jason Dowell – when the Illini hosted Penn State.

“Hopefully I can use what I have and what college coaches see in me and hopefully it can help one of my brothers out here because there are other D-1 potential athletes on my team,” Hill said.

Hill should be busy during college football season. In addition to visiting Illinois on Saturday, he said he’s planning to visit Missouri, Louisville, Tennessee and Kansas.

“I hope to go on more in a couple months as well,” he added.
